Brown with tawny hues. Off-white 2-finger head with medium retention.

Brown bread, light brown sugar and citrus zest.

On the palate graham cracker, light soy, brown bread, rich malt.

Medium+ bodied with aggressive carbonation in the mouthfeel. Rich texture that is a little sweet on the finish.

No date that I can see, approximately 3 years old.

A: Pours a dark brown with a little bit of red in there. Big fizzy and frothy light brown head. Head fizzes out pretty fast. Minimal splotches of fluffy lacing and decent retention.

S: Sweet and heavy candied dark fruits. Lots of raisin, grape, cherry in particular. Even a little bit of non-distinct berry.

T: Loaded with sweet dark fruits. Nice brown sugar mixing with the raisins, grapes and cherries as mentioned. Kind of a yeasty bread malt backing it all up. Hints of cloves and spice in the finish but not a huge amount. Altogether reminds me of a sweet spiced bread. Just enough to let you know this is a real belgian brew.

M: Medium bodied and very smooth.

O: Great BSDA. Very malty and sweet. Well integrated flavors, perhaps a byproduct of the age. Super fruity, definitely a standout in this category. Well balanced and drinkable. Fantastic.
