I just reviewed the 6. Tonight I bought the 6, 8, and 10. I've had the 8 and 10 before and the 10 is by far my favorite beer on the planet — to date. I really liked the 6, for what it is. Which is darn good beer!

Okay, while the 6 looks like a sexy strawberry blonde, the 8 is more of a dark ginger nerd.

Smells like your one-night stand's candy coated panties, with less plum than the 6.

It's not much richer than the 6, taste wise...it's bit fuller, but not enough to really distinguish it from the latter.

O-Good beer? Absolutely. It's great. My beef is that if I had to choose between having the 6, 8, or 10 I'd either have the 6: for a lighter, summer type beer; or the 10: for an all out it's-the-end-of-the-world-zombie-apocalypse-so-drink-up-while-you-still-can type ;)

Pours a dark brown color with light tan colored head. Figs, bananas, dark fruits, cherries, berries and sugar on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more dark fruits.

Pours a deep murky copper-brown. Excellent head, though quickly dissipating. A fine sticky lacing throughout.

Aromas of grains, Belgian yeast, banana, dried dark fruits, brown bread, and dark sugars of multiple layers (brown sugar, molasses, and toasted marshmallow). Clean alcohol on the back end.

Well-rounded and complex flavors that match the nose. Fruitiness on the front, with phenolic but not medicinal herbal notes and clean and warming (not burning or biting) alcohol. But perhaps the best part is the ever-present grainy yeasty notes from the unmistakable Belgian yeasts. A rustic, grainy, wonderful presence.

Moutfeel is maybe a bit thin compared to the expectation, but is very light and effervescent, with strong carbonation that sticks out the whole ride. The carbonation provides just the crisp finish that is needed to keep the malts from overwhelming.

Overall, a simply fantastic presentation of the style.

Purchased this bottle in January 2014. Best by date is September 2017.

The pour was brown and murky with some dark red highlights; a nice creamy head that disappeared quickly to a little ring around the edge.
It smelled like molasses, rum, slight alcohol, some almond, figs, dates, and wood.
Taste: wood barrels, molasses, burnt sugar, some slight spice and a little dry; some earth, dates, a little bit of alcohol, and figs.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied and easy to drink. Light carbonation.
It held up well after sitting for 3 years in my cellar. I'll have to try a newer one to compare it to and see if there are any other flavors I can pull out of it. Happy Winter everyone!

Heavily carbonated, fizzed out of the bottle. Belgian candi, figs and plums, strong Belgian yeast. Dark, sweet, and full flavored. Carbonation dances on your tongue. This is one of the best dubbels I've had

Poured from a 33 cl single into a tulip. Huge creamy khaki head that dissipates in a minute or two, over a murky reddish brown. The nose is superb...rum-soaked raisins, banana, tobacco, bread, slightly burnt caramel. Taste follows, but not quite as complex as the nose. Nice body, not too heavy and hides the alcohol quite well.

Pours a brown with a red hue to the color. The smell is more of a alcohol than a malty beer aroma. The taste is more alcoholic with a malty background. The mouthful is heavy but good. Overall a wonderful drink with a large alcohol taste.
