excellent hotdogs done as many ways as you can imagine. They have a huge draft selection for being such a small place. I have never had a bottle or can from here, so I don't know how that compares to other places.

Got lucky here with Hudepohl beer 14k in a can. Had a doganator with bacon and onion rings a bit a chili? Some of the best damn rings I've had for a while. Missed that they might have had Zuber and 4 strings beer from Columbus. But for all you old timers they do have old style, blatz plus a lot more on tap and in bottles.(plus a full serve bar with OYO whiskey/ vodka and Brothers Drake mead. Just ask what else they might have. My wife had the cowgirl Carmen she said it needed a little zing (Sirrachi on the table) and totchos (tater tots with chili and cheese: awesome). I just wish the place was a little bigger and had better ac (105 outside the day we visit). What more can you expect from a hot dog joint and bar/pub.

Dirty Frank's is one of @lizlessner 's fantastic Columbus pubs and eateries. Having said that, its ok to be a little critical since she and her partners seem to be very good at what they do. Dirty Frank's is a very small bar and restaurant serving great craft beer on draft and nostalgic beer in cans and bottles. Dirty Frank's is decorated in art by local artists as well as the music. The namesake is truly the highlight of the place as you can get a hot dogs with delicious toppings like: Siracha Cream Cheese and Roasted Red Peppers (Zippity Zam). The beer menu is fantastic and highlights craft and Ohio (local) beers with icons denoting there origin. If you are ever in the vicinity of this Palace, YOU MUST ENTER.

Dirty Franks is yet another of the Lessner group of Columbus restaurants that takes a kitschy concept and proves they are so much more.

The concept of Dirty Franks is a place that brings the great styles of hot dogs from across the country and pair them with great suds to wash them down. While Dirty Franks does not have an extensive beer list, its a very good one. Care is taken like Elizabeth's restaurants that the selection takes into account good, local beers and makes certain they have a chance to shine.

The food is great..hot dogs are done to order, and represent a fantastic array of styles..from more traditional offerings like Chicago style to more unusual (but fantastic) combinations like Sirrracha-infused cream cheese and roasted red peppers.

They offer all styles with beef hot dogs, tofu dogs, or brats as the base..give them a try..you won't be disappointed.

I. Love. This. Place. The food is amazing. Hot Dogs? Amazing? Yes. They take hot dogs to another level. Probably 20 different topping combo's off their set menu w/ the option to create your own as well. They offer regular hotdogs, veggie,...and...bacon wrapped. When I tell people about this place they kinda roll their eyes as if to say...it is just a hot dog. Then they go there and say....it is not just a hot dog. If hot dog's arent your thing...they have a few other items as well (mac and cheese, etc). The side items are also stellar...tatertachos. Funnel cake fries. Steal my heart.

The beer list is pretty decent. A wide range of different things. They also have a good bottle selection. They normally have 10 or so things on tap. Combined w/ their bottle selection...you have well over 20 to choose from. They also have harder stuff. You can even get a slushie w/ liquor. I had the Chris Sabo...good.

If you go at peak times...which can be anytime from 630 on...be prepared to wait...and keep in mind that there is not a lot of space to stand inside by the door. The bar has 12 or so spots in addition to the tables...keep an eye open for bar spots to open.

A LOT of hipsters go here. B/c...they view it as hip. But for every hipster, there are 3 non-hipsters. Folk art is all over the walls...the Hall and Oates paintings are fabulous. The service is pretty good....especially considering how busy they are most of the time. The atmosphere is lively. Really enjoy DF. The owners also run Surely Girl, Betty's, and Tip Top....all are really quality places.

My first trip out to Dirty Frank's.

You walk in and the place is small, the walls are filled with mostly baseball and music themed art or memorabilia. Hand painted pictures of Michael Jackson and Thin Lizzy are a couple examples, but most of it is all centered on baseball.

We came for the hot dogs. The menu is pretty extensive, anything you never dreamed you'd see on a dog is featured here. My wife tried the traditional Chicago dog and the Seoul Dog (with kimchi). I had the dog with brisket and coleslaw on top and another "Ohioana" that had corn kernels, tomato, peppers, and jalapeno on top. We thoroughly enjoyed them! The fries are well seasoned and tasty as well.

The beer selection was good, but limited. Today they had on tap: Bell's Oberon, Pabst, GLBC Oktoberfest, Ithaca Flower Power, Troeggenator Dopplebock, and DFH Punkin' Ale. They had another 15 or so craft bottles on the list as well.

Overall this place is a great value for the food: most dogs are $3-$3.50. the beer was a little on the pricey side though, I think ours were all $6.50 on draft. We'll definitely be coming back, we're currently planning on it after we visit Bodega's Happy Hour next to fill up before the long drive home.

Dirty Franks is a laid back, fun hot dog joint in Downtown Columbus. Lots of cool artwork on the walls themed with baseball, music, etc. Servers were super friendly and prompt.

On tap they had Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster, Bells Oberon, PBR, and a couple others I forget. Bottle selection was pretty good with Columbus Brewing Company Pale Ale, Thirsty Dog Old Leghumper, Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold, Troegs HopBack Amber, Purple Haze, Rogue Dead Guy, Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, Delirium, and domestics.

Great selection of unique hot dogs, all $3...tough to pick one out to try. I went with the Puff The Magic Popper - topped with cheddar cream cheese, jalapenos, and bacon bits. Hit the spot.

Definitely worth stopping by. They are open late till 2am as well, and after 10pm they offer nightly specials themed by city. Wednesday is Cincinnati night... you get a burger beer and a 4-way for $5.

The atmosphere at Franks cracks me up everytime I'm in there. Its a good mixture of 80's rock bands and 80's baseball stuff. Overall, pretty funny.

Been there a handful of times and the service is always great. Fast and helpful.

Food wise I never knew there was so many different types of hot dogs. All the dogs for the most part are right around $3.

Beer wise they have 8 taps seems that Columbus Brewing, Great Lakes, Bells and Troegs are always there. They also have probably around 20 bottles and cans mostly all pretty solid. Nothing that you can't find anywhere else. A cool spot but by no means the best place in town.

Dirty Frank's is oddly situated just a couple blocks away from the Capitol building in downtown Columbus... "oddly situated" because it is surrounded by hotels and office buildings and it's probably the only restaurant or bar on the block. It is the newest addition by the owners of Betty's/Surly Girl Saloon/Tip Top. If you've been to any of these bars, you'd know what to expect when you walk into Dirty Frank's.

The theme is hot dogs, sports, music, and the celebration of its home-town. There is probably enough seating for only 40 people (like Betty's). The menu is a list of several dozen hot dogs with a variety of weird toppings and some sides (like tater tots and fries that are definitely worth splurging on).

The scene is filled with either young families (around early dinner time) or the artsy-hipster crowd. They have local stand-up comedy nights. They play ONLY local Columbus music. The service is relaxed and really good.

The beer list is short, but they make the most out of the taps they have. Some notable beers were Left Hand Milk Stout, Great Lakes, Columbus Brewing Company, and Barley's seasonals, Brooklyn Monster, and Founders; nothing that will blow you out of the water, but it is decent.

I'd recommend it.

This place is downtown, but unlike most places has late hours probably due in part to being part of the group of places owned by Betty's, Surly Girl, and Tip Top which is also downtown. This place focuses on dressed up hot dogs and decks the place out in baseball theme to promote that fact. The hot dogs can be switched out for other options like vegetarian or sausage. The beer selection both bottle and on tap is great, but I have come to expect that from these establishments since they were the first to really spearhead good beer in bars. The service is good and is helped since they usually try to encourage servers from their other places to work at the new ones. Highly recommended.

Just visited Dirty Frank's this weekend on a trip up to Columbus to visit some good friends.

The atmosphere of Dirty Frank's is great...lots of baseball memorabilia on the walls, as well as custom designed skateboard decks here and there...it's small, with a decent sized bar...

From the street, this place would be easy to miss. It's not flashy, and I especially liked the "Masters of the Universe" chalk board in the window advertising their new dog, "The Tahitian King," as well as a beer special and a couple other small tidbits of information.

The beer selection is decent...nothing over the top or off the wall, but it is solid. I had a Great Lakes Independence Ale...also on tap were Dogfish Head 90 minute, Bell's Oberon, Columbus Brewing Summer Teeth, and PBR! There was also a decent bottle selection, including Saison DuPont.

The food is great, and very reasonably priced. I had two dogs (the Tahitian King and the Zippety Zam), the cheesy bacon fries, and the fried leek. All was good, though the leek was only half fried and somewhat of a challenge to eat. Overall, the dogs were creative and delicious.

I love hot dog joints...and to find one that also has a good beer selection is exciting...on the menu they had a statistic about how many bottles are saved each year by drinking draft beer...and how long beer kegs can last...pretty neat.

Overall, this place is great. If you are in the Columbus area Dirty Frank's is worth seeking out.

Located in downtown Columbus under a small, barely noticeable yellow awning, this little place is quite a hidden jem.

Dirty Franks is primarily a hot dog joint specializing in gourmet hot dogs loaded with toppings. You find yourself unable to make a decision.

They have a small-ish selection of beer but what is there is very high quality and a very nice surprise. Beers include 60 min, Southern Tier, Bells, Rogue, Saison DuPont, Founder's and a selection of Ohio companies. Mainly Columbus Brewing Co and Great Lakes but a couple lesser known Ohio breweries like Barrel House Brewing are represented. The beer selection is very surprising here.

The atmosphere is obviously quite casual as this is a hot dog joint. The people I have seen in there most are the somewhat younger, indy/artistic type, which is fine with me.

This is truly one of Columbus's best hidden little jems.
