Hazy medium-golden color with a nice head. Surprisingly hoppy with enough malt to balance the bitterness and sweetness. Leans toward a west coast IPA that feels fresh on the palate, but a bit more malt than a traditional west coast IPA. Nice beer.

Pleased to be among first reviewers of this fine east coast tribute to west coast. In a blind test this did well, not surprised.
a) hard to argue with the light gold hazed body and the lasting creamy head that suds laces around the glass all the way.
s) Ample. Eastern LI style. Full nose of citrus and pine hops, juicy, fruity malts - almost EIPA.
t) ABV well hidden behind a flavor wall of juicy, varied hops. mostly lemon, grapefruit, fruity, pine balanced with caramel and toasted malts smoothing out in only a light bitterness that keeps it from being too sweet,
f) Mid body & carbs, nice ending, clean after juicy experience.
o) Like an EIPA more than a west coaster, more malty and candied.

Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking glazed over pale orange color with a thick foamy white semi-finger's worth of head that slid off at a moderate pace. Lace seemed to run here and there.
The aroma had a nice sweet spruce to evergreen hop contour, very fresh and clean with a nice sturdy clean cracker-esque malt bill coming about.
The flavor took all of the prior mentioned aromas to lean in to the sweetness of it all and pop in a slight hop spice to ride into the aftertaste fairly nice.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Finish had just a hint of stickiness, acceptable, but not burdensome.
Overall, pretty good as an AIPA, and perhaps one I could come back to if offered.

A: slight haze; medium gold in color; 3 finger ivory head that receded to a very thin cap; very nice lacing;

S: tropical fruit with a hint of floral in the background;

T: earthy for a moment, then floral gets added in; a bit of caramel in the background; finish is mildly bitter;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: good, but not memorable;

Picked this up today while visiting my parents back on Long Island. Poured into a Brooklyn pint in my childhood kitchen. Starts with a big white head that doesn't last . Features a cloudy golden body and a nose of herbal hops.

Nice balance in the sip with more of a noble hop bite matching up against the medium bread malts. Bitterness isn't high but does show staying power through the finish. Not overpowering but satisfying enough for what it is. More mellow than a lot of the style, this is tasty enough but no hop bomb.

- enjoyed a few tap pours of this over two weeks. Pale cloudy pour with prominent citrus hop nose. Sufficient malt support for a fruity hop profile makes for a refreshing, enjoyable draught. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth.
Perhaps the bottle experience is distinctly different (based on other reviews).

Darker than expected and much maltier than expected too. But there's just enough of a hop bight to offset that sweetness. Minimal bitterness. I agree with the "stale pine" comment. Well balanced, though. More of an English Style IPA, and a fine one too. Very drinkable.

Pours a light golden, decent head and lace. Mostly fruity and citric aroma. The taste also was on the sweet and citric side, very tasty and with a moderate hops profile. Medium to light mouthfeel, pretty smooth and easy drinking.
A nice solid IPA, non complex and unspectacular, but enjoyable nonetheless. Hapy to support a local brewery.

look is a pale yellow lager like appearance, - smell has an alcohol liquor smell with hops - taste is a very dry extremely dry boozy hop fueled in your face start lots of pine and sap with a quick crash, feel is of moderate carbonation lingering aftertaste with a dry finish, dry throughout, what type of hops creates this dry feel?

L - moderately hazy glowing orange. Fluffy head with good retention.

S - sweet malts and citrus. Stale pine.

T - thin hops pole through in addition to the nose. Pretty typical malt-forward IPA. Taste seems a little thin. Lacking that punch.

F - surprisingly light for 7.5%. Has some of that syrupy texture, but not much.

O - an OK IPA. Drinkable, but nothing to write home about.

12 oz bottle, w/o freshness info to be had..Created "out east"... west coast style IPA

Pours clouded light, near golden amber...great looking tiny bubble head, froth, low sheeting, fine lacing splattered high up on the glass

Citric/pine nose on the pungent side

More of the nose on the palate, fresh and again pungent grapefruit, tropical fruits and pine resins..

Nicely done - bright and tasty. West coast IPA all the way. Well worth a try

Like it. Sort of seems like a cross between an English style India Pale Ale and an American IPA. Will purchase again. Seems like you can't go wrong with an ipa if there's a picture of a fish on the label!

Not much from the nose, but pleasant amount of bitterness on the palate. Medium copper tone and nice lacing on the glass. Nice carbonation leads to relatively thick mouthfeel for an IPA

Got in a BIF from beerloserLI. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice standard C hopped IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

64 oz growler was poured into a snifter.

Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a pale yellow orange color with good clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Grapefruit, tangerine, citrus, herbal, and grassy hops followed by toasted, biscuity, cracker, and caramel malts.

Taste: Nice citrus, herbal, and grassy flavor with balancing malt backbone and chewy notes in the rear. Some bitterness and light alcohol too. Very tasty beer.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little chewy, light bitterness, medium bodied, medium carbonation, and a little booze.

Overall: Have to admit that every time I head to Long Island, I bring clean growlers to get filled up with local LI beers like these guys. Look forward to more Greenport in the future.

On draft. Frickin' horrendous. This honestly tastes like lemon vodka mixed with watery beer. Burning alcoholic aftertaste. I'm really hoping I just sampled from a bad batch. Not balanced, not tasty. Avoid

On draft, shaker pint glass. Dark golden in color, good head and lacing. Nice aroma of American hops, slightly bitter taste , but spot on for an IPA. Very drinkable.

Surprisingly purchased at local Gulf Station, Northern blvd,NY, 10.99/6 .
Look: i'll put on the steampunk seabass... but this a sweet looking package, not to be confused with goose island, it has the same green ipa standard color . Smell: Hop Forward to say the least. Great Aroma, not hop shotted at all, i've drank a few cases of this by now ... not as fruity as i would have liked but piney , some earthy, pithy enough but not enough to leave a super aftershock.
Taste: Real nice, i wouldn't think 7.5% , tastes at least as good as smell. diff tastes from smell.
Feel: Medium bodied, not sure about the abv, had a substantial , but not out of place or style , a little bready, appropriate for a better quality beer.... I like an IPA with a medium to low abv. this is a bunch over, but not necessarily into the DIPA style.

Great beer which should not be a major player in sessions.
2/per night max. share with a friend. this one smells pretty nice too.

Pours a golden color with a puffy creamy head. Nice retention.

The aroma is floral. Grapefruit and pepper seem to dominate the profile. Some honey sweetness.

The taste is a little more bitter. The grapefruit is still there but it also brings the rind as well as some pine notes. A substantial hoppy flavor. The malt is bready with honey sweetness and does a nice job supporting the hops.

Moderate feel with tingly carbonation. Definitely bitter on the palate but there is enough sweetness from the malt to offset. Finishes slightly dry.

A well made IPA. The hop profile is not my favorite but it is still good. Good to see Greeport bottling their brews.

Pours a brilliant golden copper with bone white head
Huge pine and a bit of dankness and citrus mixed in. A touch of malty sweetness and waft of alcohol
Taste is more of the same, follows the nose perfectly with the pine at the forefront.
This is a really well crafted ipa bordering on double ipa.
Personally would pick this up anytime Im looking for a big, bold in your face ipa.
Picked this up with low expectations and am really digging this beer! Nice job Greenport. Would like to see bottle dates in the future and would love to seek it out on draft to compare to the bottle.

Thrilled this is available in bottle form for $11.99 a 6er. Attractive packaging.

Super oily, hop bomb, slightly flat sweet malt, hops vicious enough to overcome sweetness. Refreshing, throat clearing resinous. Marmalade with tons of fresh cut pine. Hops linger, slightly sharp, cuts over sweet malt. Better on draft, not quite as boisterous, slightly syrupy in bottle, still, excellent and will buy again. The hops kill on this and are not to be missed.

Amber pour with major clarity and the nose smells of subtle hops and sugars.

The initial sip brings bitter and pungent hops right to the palate. Notes of grass, pine and citrus really come on as you continue to drink. Smooth and balanced with a sweet malt backbone finish. The mouth feel is good and decently floral.

Overall, it's an easy drinking and enjoyable ipa. When drinking it, I really want it to be great but in the end this lands in the average category at best.

On-tap at Brklyn Beer Garden, JFK Airport Terminal 2, NYC

A: The beer is slightly hazy amber yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that left lacy patches of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pine resin hops are present in the nose along with notes of citrus.
T: The taste is almost a mirror image to the smell and starts out with flavors of grapefruit hops and quickly transitions to flavors of pine resin hops, the latter of which contributes a moderate amount of bitterness and lingers through the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This isn't a bad IPA as it has an interesting mix of grapefruit and pine resin aromas and flavors.
