500ml bottle served in a nonic pint. 09.02.18 (I assume "best by"). Given to me by a friend who traveled to Poland on business. My bottle looks different than the picture, and it is marked at 5.7% instead of 6.2%, but it has honeycomb on the label so it's probably the same beer.

Pours a mostly clear light yellow color with a huge head and lots of carbonation. Smells like a lager with a lot of honey. Or maybe honey with a little lager in it.

Taste is along the same lines. It reminds me a bit of a radler, but with honey instead of fruity soda. Also surprisingly strong.

Mouthfeel is light. Overall, it's an enjoyable beer. But you better be looking for sweetness.

Reviewed from notes taken in Summer 2014.

On-draught somewhere in Poland (I think Wroclaw?)

HEAD: 1 finger wide. White colour. Average retention (~2 minutes). No lacing sticks to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.

BODY: Clear clean translucent honey colour. Average vibrance. No yeast or sediment is visible within.

Looks as it should given it's a honey beer.

AROMA: Heavy unmistakable honey and accompanying sweetness. Really uncanny.

The raw honey overwhelms anything else in the aroma. Really an extremely attractive aroma; fantastically honey-evocative. I can't wait to try it (even if it does seem a bit one-dimensional).

TASTE & TEXTURE: Yup - honey! Marvelous evocative honey. Depth of flavour couldn't be better. Sticky liquid honey with ideal sweetness - never cloying or overdone. Great smooth wet presence on the palate. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Carbonation is perfect. Never gooey or overly thick.

The honey taste is genuine, not artificial. Damned impressive in spite of its simplicity. Good duration of flavour. Average flavour intensity.

I detect no overt hops, alcohol, or off-flavour.

Very well balanced. Build - simple as it is - is gestalt and cohesive. Very tasty stuff.

OVERALL: Very refreshing. This beer delivers exactly what it promises to without ever tasting artificial. I'd recommend it to any beer enthusiast (or mead fan, for that matter). Extremely drinkable. How this isn't cloying or syrupy is beyond me. I won't often be in the mood for this, but when I am, I'll know there are few honey beers that surpass it. The price is right to boot.

Was my favorite beer while visiting Poland. Can never find it in the states so was thrilled when Ciechan had a pop-up beer garden in the middle of Warsaw.

The beer was VERY sweet. Heavy, heavy honey. Highly refreshing considering it was 80-90 degrees during the visit.

A: Pours a clear honey color with a small amount of foamy white head, which dissipates completely fairly quickly, leaving no lacing.

S: Densely sweet honey and fruit.

T: All kinds of honey, very sweet, with a touch of graininess.

M: Fairly light, low carbonation.

Overall this tastes almost like some kind of beer cocktail. I'm not really a fan, but I imagine the right person could like it quite a bit.

Bottle at Celibar in Warsaw. From notes.

A - Poured gold. No visible carbonation. No head and no lacing. A little hazy.

S - Honey. Very sweet smelling. A little grainy.

T - Chamomile tea? Honey, floral, very sweet. Floral in the finish. Lot's of honey up front. I wrote down 'don't like'.

M - Medium carbonation. Feels watery in the body.

O/D - Not all that good really. Sweet. Not boring but not good. Just way too much honey.

Pours smoky pale yellow with thin white head that soon fades, thin patchy lacing. Aroma is honey, not much else.

Taste is tangy honey that dominates to much lesser extent as in aroma, as well as light acidic citrus, the beer is neither too sweet, nor cloying. Mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation, alcohol is very well hidden, towards the end light warming can be felt.

I never expected that honey beer can be this good and refreshing.

a very festive winter spiced beer quality but i would say great at blending the qualities of honey and beer. not on a brewing with honey quality like some of the belgians but more so as a post brewing mix. pour is cloudy honey orange color and a nose of clover and mild pine citrus. palate was a great balance of zest and pollen but quite forward. the beer had a nice quality of feel that had the tingle of sweets and citrus till the end even though the beer itself look completely flat.

Had a bottle of this at the Sketch bar in Warsaw about a month ago. Poured with a small head and no lace. Short lived head. Hazy amber color. Aroma is good honey and so is taste. While the honey is so dominant, it still isn't overpowering and the beer is quite tasty. Decent body. Sweet yet good finish. Nice carbonation. Proly not a session beer. Be good to cook with.
