A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2013. Picked up from Trembling Madness in York a while ago. Described as an American-style IPA hopped with Columbus, Citra and Simcoe.

Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy orange-amber hue with fine sediment and light carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a thick surface layer. Slight lacing. Aroma of intensely fruity hops with hints of grapefruit, lime, citrus, white fruits, grass, subtle pine, spice, caramel malt and earthy yeast. Delicious.

Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, mild pine resin, white grape, grass/hay, faint spice, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, followed by a strident bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with good body and soft carbonation. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, leafy bitterness and earthy yeast.

Tasty stuff - another quality brew from BBF. Looks good, with a fantastic aroma of fruity hops and a flavour to match. Malt and yeast underpin the character while lurking in the background. Decent body; could benefit from livelier carbonation. Very nice - one for the hop fans. Well worth sampling if you come across it.

Pours amber with a fading head.
Nose shows papaya, lychee and mango along with fruit confectionery notes. Pretty vibrant. Some clean malt in the background.
Similar flavours, incredibly fruity. There's a mint note too. Not much in the way of malt, quite clean. The straightforward hop character is a little grassy.
Carbonation could be a little higher.

Bottle conditioned. Hazy orange. Wispy head.
One of the better UK interpretations of an American IPA.
Very hoppy (of course). Citrus pine. Soft astringency.
An enjoyable and refreshing start to 2015 for me.

Dark amber with craggy sandstone head that trails.
Musky stewed orange hops but also salted caramel on the nose, plus some tannins.
Toffee and peach tart then sticky orange, resin, mango and evergreen hops that stretch open to reveal a bit of aspirin.
Green herbal finish + long honey cough drop bitter linger.
Medium, salty, oily, chewy, hot.

Hope are there, but just not bright enough to lift through the gooey. 22.3.14 BBD - has this lost a step after only 4 months? Some burn, too, which is a bit much for "only" 6.5%. Label says American IPA, but Ageless drinks much easier at 2 point ABV higher.

Eventually it settles to sharp Simcoe pine, and it does bring the IBUs, but just doesn't hang together.

And I am the only one who expected NZ hops because it says "*South*ville"?!

This supposed American IPA had none of the fresh citrussy hops in it that I normally like so much.

It had a very strong taste but was still almost bland... Hard to desribe but I would not recommend it.

The only plus is the of it was the dar amber look which looked like it would be citrussy, piney, resiney but no - none of that.
