a: burn copper color with some definite chill haze going on. a touch of yellow towards the bottom, and a really nice 2-3 finger solid off-white head that looks like a coin could rest on it
s: green apples, banana, and clove upfront. cardamom, pepper, and green pears behind that. some grassy grains and malt sweetness as well as some lemongrass and sharp sweet citrus. amazing aroma
t: loads of banana and cardamom upfront. sweet pears and green apple skin along with some pepper spice and sweet grassy grains. a hint of alcohol sharpness is here, but well-hidden. faint clove an coriander in the background as well
m: medium-heavy mouthfeel with strong carbonation
o: fantastic beer, and what i think one of the benchmarks for the style should be. complex, yet drinkable and dangerous

High quality Tripel but not my favorite. A little thinner in body and more bitter than I like, but it is still highly enjoyable, and you would never know the ABV is this high. A trappist masterpiece, just not the best for me.

33 cl bottle poured chilled into a taster’s snifter. 9.5% ABV. Brewed within the abbey walls. Bottled 24/08/2023, best by 24/08/2025.
Great dense foam pops up over intense gold brew, withdraws to sponge, leaves fair lace.
Aroma is lemon, lychee, touch of honey.
Taste follows, with banana and black pepper in tow. Hop and caramel malt play well together. Not as sweet as many tripels can be. Dry, tingly, peppery, long finish.
Mouthfeel is medium with prickly carbonation.
Overall, lighter than most, better than a few.

Split a 1.5 with my wife. I probably appreciated it more than she did, but this beer is about as good as it gets. Light color, long lasting head, sweet, fruity, load of flavors. The monks certainly have the formula and process down to a T. Could live with only this every day.

Unfiltered golden color, with fruity aroma and taste. Dangerously easy to drink at 9%.
