look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

Appearance: Poured from the bottle into a goblet. Pours a cloudy orange with a pure white 2 finger head that sticks around for a few minutes.

Smell: Clean hops with a sort of soapy note. There is also a sweet smell in there towards the end. Not my favorite, but not offensive in any way.

Taste: In a word, fantastic. A creamy mouthfeel exposes light citrus all over. Orange is big here, with a strangely pleasant lemon aftertaste (not sour). Spiciness abounds with hints of coriander... which may explain the soapy aroma. This is a great tripel that I would buy again and again if it weren't so expensive.

Pours a cloudy wax color, with a brilliant white 2" head that rather quickly fades to a thin lid, leaving spotty lacing down the sides.

Has a mild banana aroma, with a hint of honey malt with a hint of biscuit.

Starts with a mildly tart taste, mild malt, fair amount of carbonation, and a bit of lemon. Ends with a flourish of tart, drying out the tongue.

Medium bodied, creamy but light in its finsh.

I had high expectations for this one. While it is quite good, I'm not seeing the A+ given to it by the Alstroms.

Thank you to BuckyFresh for this gift!

Pours a golden yellow hue with a frothy white head. A bit of agitation makes the head really grow. Some splotchy bubbles stick to the glass to form some sporadic lacing.

The aroma packs a punch with all kinds of fruity yeast. Banana, clove, melon, and bready yeasts really stand out in the scent.

Spicy yeasts set the tone along with flavors of pine, banana, and tart apple. The yeast overtones combine very well with the fruit essence to create a balanced, tasty brew.

Medium in the mouth, the carbonation really comes through to give a full, airy feel. Not too dry in the end.

I truly enjoy this tripel and feel that it is very drinkable for the ABV.

I had this one in a 11.2oz. bottle poured into a chalice glass. It pours a hazy light orange color with about 1 finger of head that goes away quickly and leaves just a little lacing. The smell is a good blend of fruit and hops. The taste has a good citrus/spicy note to it, with a good balance of hops at the back of the tongue. The mouthfeel is fairly heavy, and even at 9.5%, this is a very drinkable tripel.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle into 330mL St. Bernardus chalice.

Appearance: Pours bright, hazy golden-orange color with a large white head that has very big bubbles in it and dissipates slowly, leaving behind spotty lace.

Smell: Smells of green apple and yeast, with some biscuity, floral, and grassy notes in the background.

Taste: Begings with a tart green apple flavor and some spice, rounding out to some breadiness and finishing with yeast with medium hop flavor. Some notes of citrus/citrus peel as well.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with carbonation that stings a bit initially, but rounds out and feels more natural. Finishe swarm and sort of dry.

Drinkability: An exceptional tripel- all of the typical tripel flavors are here, but unlike most tripels, none overpowers the other. This is a deceptively easy-drinker for its high ABV, but it's definitely a beer worth savoring.

This one was received from BBrianBoogie during CanBIF6. Cheers man!

Pale yellow color beer with a nice white head. The beer is veiled and the head looks like a cloud. The head sticks well to the glass. In the nose, its fruity and sugary. Not much yeast here too. Very well balanced... lets dive in! Taste wise, wow! Fruity at the start and then I get some very smooth bitterness if I might say. Very nice beer. Its starts very smooth and then finishes with a very good bitterness that leaves you to want some more. Superb taste... Well balanced, complex, easy drinkability...

The best tripel I've tasted so far.

Pours solid gold in color with a rolling, bubbly, long lasting white head that lingers all through the session. Heavy lacing along the glass.

Banana and lemon dominate the aroma profile, with just a hint of something spicy.

Banana nut Bread sweetness up front, with lemons and spices mingling mid palate and finishing spicy with just a hint of vanilla of all things.

Dry, with a medium carbonation and just a hint of heat.

I can drink this one any place any time. Truly an excellent brew.

A very earthy smell highlighting Belgian yeast and some citrusy hops. In picking up some other subtle fruit notes and a touch of spice, maybe banana, apple, pear, and some cloves or peppercorns. Quite an inviting looking beer. The color is a pale yellow with very active carbonation.
It tastes a lot like it smells with, for me, the pepper and/or cloves coming to forefront on the palate. It has a very light and airy mouthfeel with some nice bubble fuzz. Leaves my mouth with a doughy sort of after taste. This is a quality brew. I'd love to get a few more and experiment with some cellar aging

A- Pours with a superb frothy white head that retains very well....it looks like a bubble bath in the glass...the beer itself is golden in color and has a fair bit of yeast suspended within the liquid. Carbonation appears to be moderate and lacing is decent with lots of small patches clinging to the side of the glass.

S- This is like an intense version of a German Hefeweizen.....there is plenty of peppery spices, cloves, Belgian yeast strains, heavy floral notes, hoppy bitterness on the finish, and a lot of biscuit like sweet malt. Some fruitiness is noted as well....bananas, apple, pear to be precise.....This is quite a distinct aroma with many different faucets of smell hitting the nostrils.

T- Spicy to boot!.....Peppercorn and cloves are the two dominant flavors in this category.....the booziness of the beer is noticeable as well....it is quite warming as it goes down the hatch! The ripe banana, apple, and pear flavors are lovely....heavy grainy/grassy/bitter flavors as well near the end make this a very flavorful, balanced Trappist Ale....very nice!

M/O- Medium bodied and smooth, fine carbonation....this is a very nice beer from this line of Trappist Monks! Almost sour, and champagne like as well, with heavy alcohol yet it retains a velvety mouthfeel....this is most definitely a sipper, however, it is delightful and I will drink this in the future....full props on this one!
