Bottle shared by Nick last night- I can't believe this is actually the first time I've had this one.

This pours a slightly hazy pale orange, with a tight one inch head, and a little bit of lacing.

Smells like honey covered apricot, pear, sharp grassiness, freshly baled hay, and a sort of indistinguishable Belgian spicing.

Though the tripel will never be one of my favorite styles, this is undeniably delicious and a paragon for the style. It's wonderfully complex- soft stone fruit- peach and apricot, with a surprisingly high level of grassy hoppiness, some pear, hay, and clove esters. It all comes together very nicely- and demands to be respected.

This is surprisingly light bodied, soft and airy, with a normal level of carbonation. It's quite sneaky- you wouldn't know there's any alcohol in this.

Probably the best tripel out there- this is absolutely wonderful.

Deep cloudy golden color with storming glass clinging activity. Extra foamy white 3 finger island head, lasting around 20 minutes, with decent legs. Flavors of red licorice, coriander, sweet grains, lemon, apples, pears, clove, Belgian yeast, leafy spices. Super malty and sugary with a harsh dose of spices. Smooth slick medium body with almost champagne like carbonation. Strong finish, boldly spiced, lingering fresh malts, floral yeast and hops, with a soft barrel aged feel. Very rich, filling, and warming. Slightly boozy and acidic but with good freshness. Delicious flavors but slightly too spicy. And you get the happy kind of buzz as usual from quality tripels. Overall excellent quality craft.

Serving: 11.2 fl oz bottle (best before "17/12/17") poured into a Spiegelau beer tulip.

Appearance: Hazy, deep golden yellow with a fluffy cloud of white foam that recedes to a cap of white foam with streaks of white lace.

Smell: Spicy Belgian yeast, stone fruit and slight citrus zest, phenols and whole grain bread.

Taste: Rich, dry malty body with plenty of spice, Belgian yeast, stone fruit and banana; alcoholic punch in the close.

Mouthfeel: Medium body, silky feel, moderate carbonation, slight alcoholic heat.

Overall: Full, flavorful and complex - just what a Tripel should be.
