Bottle. Very dark brown. Thick tan and frothy head which dissipates slowly.
Sweet malted barley and rehydrated fruit. Ester/Phenolic yeast.
Toffee apple flavour. Liquorice. Quite boozy.
Medium body. Soft carbonation. Balanced.
Middle of the road Dubbel.

The aroma caught me the second I popped the cap. Rich, malty, inviting. Surprisingly carbonation leading into a creamy texture. Butterscotch, bread, and a little bit of yeasty funk. Spicy hops linger in a slightly bitter finish.

Outstanding. Go get it!

Bottle served in Pint Glass

Appearance: Dark

Smell: grapes, rasberries, plums, citrusy, dark and fruity overall. The aroma reminds me of wine.

Taste: The taste is akin to the aroma. It tastes very dark plummy and fruity. The taste reminds me of wine or champagne.

Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated with wet finish.

Overall This is a great Trappist brew, but it is not my favorite.

I guess I have to get another bottle because I don't see what all the excitement is all about. I got none of the malty yeasty sweet flavor you expect from a dubbel. Actually it was not full flavored at all. I would compare it to a Becks dark. Very disappointed.
