This is the main "bar" inside The Desmond Hotel and Conference Room.

Atmosphere is warm, woody comfortable. There are a handful of tvs, but are turned down a bit so that they are useful when there isn't anyone else at the bar.

Service is spot on at all the locations within The Desmond. Everyone knows service very well, with a high level across the board

quality/Selection: i'm rating the selection based on this not being a destination beer bar with food, but a hotel bar. As a hotel bar, the selection is head and shoulders above most. There are three towers. At least half are micro selections, which change often. Victory and Weyerbacher are generally at least one or two of those. Recently, they had prima pils, merry monks, a lancaster brew, and hop infusion all on tap.

Priced around $5 a pint, which isn't all that bad.

When you don't have transportation at your fingertips to check out the bar scene around, it's always nice to have a pub inside your hotel (Fox & Hounds is located inside the Desmond Hotel). I came here twice during my stay, once for lunch, and once for Saturday night drinking. Inside, it is faux English-Irish....lots of wood inside with tables scattered around and an L-shaped bar in a corner. Clean, "dark", and easy to get around. There was a good crowd on hand for Saturday night, as there were two wedding afterpaties (including one I was part of) being held in here.

Three towers of taps, two with three taps, and one with five taps, sit at the bar. A decent selection with a few local beers and a few seasonal beers. On-tap: Sam Adams Seasonal, Sierra Nevada ESB, Yuengling Bock, Yuengling Lager, Hop Devil, Philadelphia Pale Ale, Blue Moon, Guinness, Smithwicks, Stella Artois, Miller Lite. Drafts are served in 16 ounce shaker glasses, and none over $5. My beers were in good shape, though I'd like to see tulip imperial pint glasses in a place that calls itself a pub.

I had a BBQ Southern-style beef sandwich with fries. Not too bad. The sandwich was less barbecuey than I'd expect.

I would have liked to explore the area's beer scene a little more, though given I didn't have much power of what I'd like to do during my trip...I'll take a bar like this in my hotel.
