I love this place. My girlfriend is from Ilkley, so, it softens the blow of having to visit her family (who are really lovely...kind of).
They are always rotating the cask ales with emphasis on the local beers, which is the way it should be. They are well stocked with a variety of bottle beers, ranging from Imperial Stouts to Kriek beers from all over the world. The key plus point for the bar is that they try to serve the beers in the correct glass, which a lot of places neglect to do. They even served my Pauwel Kwak in the branded novelty glass with the wooden stirrup.
The food is good...well mine usually is, my girlfriend hasn't been as impressed though. I am easily pleased, she on the other hand is a vegetarian.
Service is always efficient and polite, and the prices are competitive.
If you are ever roaming the Yorkshire moors, you should give it a try. There are also some good beers shops nearby in Leeds, most notably BeerRitz in Headingley.
