Pool hall/dive bar with an awesome beer selection. Quite a hike from the strip, but well worth it for the beer enthusiast. 20 taps, and an awesome rare bottle selection. Bottles to go if you wish. Great bar food, pizza was excellent for pairing with good beers. Video poker and multi-game gambling at the bar. It definitely has a locals vibe, but everyone was cool.

Well, the newer Tenaya location may be prettier, but Nellis is my first stop when I hit town...often even before I check in at the hotel. Cool dive bar / pool hall feel with an always interesting draught beer lineup. The waitstaff and bartenders are reasonably well educated and always very personable. The one rating I wish I could give is for value...the prices are very reasonable, which makes them practically dirt-cheap for Las Vegas.

A dark neon-lite box of a place a fair bit off the strip. Long bar along the left side wall and tables and booths around the perimeter. 20 well assorted beers on tap, nice selection. Food was solid and reasonably priced.

I love this place---probably my favorite beer bar in the world. The selection isn't the broadest, but boy is it deep. Special events are great and the food it top notch. Overall you can't go wrong.

visited here for dinner and drinks before a flight out of Vegas.

The atmosphere is a little rougher than I imagined for a "beer bar", seems like more of a locals bar that happens to have a great tap list of beers. But then I did remember we're in Vegas. Smoky, video poker machines in the bar, tons of TV's showing sports. There is a side area with some tables, some high tops around the bar, and a side room with pool tables.

Taplist was very heavy on Stone beers, with other West Coast craft beers filling in the gaps. Some one-offs or speciality releases mixed in. Lots of IPA's. You order by tap #, and the menu clearly states name, style, ABV, ounces of pour, and prices. There was a video monitor with the same info too. Also some high priced vintage large bottles available.

Waitress was attentive and friendly, service was good. Food was better than expected, pretty tasty, and came out quick. Beers were a little pricey.

Went to aces and ales on super bowl Sunday. $25 cab ride from the strip. As we walked in, a bartender stopped us and asked if we had a reservation. We said no and she informed us that all seats were reserved. Fine; she said we could stand if we wanted but warned us service would be slow. Ok; funny thing was that there were open seats at the bar the whole time we were there but we weren't allowed to sit. The waitresses were not happy that we were standing so they glared at us the whole time we were there. It was hard to get any service at the bar ; again the place was busy but not packed. Place was smokey in addition. Shame is that the beer selection was awesome but we were not going to stay there after the rudeness we experienced. We left at half time and spent our money elsewhere. Vegas prices which means expensive.

Never going back there again.

First trip to Vegas and had scoped this place out prior to landing. Aces & Ales is a good distance from the Strip. Cab was about $30 with tip, but worth it. The atmosphere is great. Our waitress was excellent. We stayed so long that one of the owners took over for her when her shift ended...or maybe we were just so damn obnoxious. Either way, both servers were great.

Tap selection was good with lots of variety. Bottle list was also quite impressive.

I have absolutely no complaints about the bar, however, trying to get a cab FROM the bar is, quite frankly, a bitch. After several (at least 4) calls and an 1.5 hour wait on a Thursday, one finally arrived. I love this bar, but damn it is like a black hole in this area of town...you may never escape.

Enjoy this place, simply put.
Try and get there once a month. They have 20 beers on tap, constantly rotating plus a wide bottle selection. I have yet to have been there when the same thing is always on. They keep it mixed up and try to have new things coming through.

Prices are great. Draft menu is $6 for a pint or goblet, depending on the beer. $4 beers on Sunday.

Food is fantastic. No idea who the cooks are but they better keep them around because nothing goes better with good beer than good food. Food ranges from finger appetizers to pizza, burgers, house mac n' cheese, and sandwiches.

If you're ever in Las Vegas, venture off the strip for an afternoon/evening and check this place out. Well worth it.

I was able to stop by Aces and Ales during a bachelor party to Vegas this weekend. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and found a small handful of people…which was perfect after spending a few days on the strip. The place was pretty dark, but you are greeted by the warm glow of a beer fridge proudly displaying a very good selection of aged bottled beers from the likes of Stone, Deschutes, Firestone Walker to name a few. We picked up a Sucaba and The Abyss (2010). Pleanty of TVs to watch a game and the service was pretty good. Our servers were friendly. The 20 or so taps were great to see, especially coming from the Midwest and wanting to check out West Coast offerings. They also had some really cool barrel-aged stuff on tap as well. We also took advantage of a happy hour where you can get any pour and a burger for $10…Great Deal!

Getting there from the strip is tough. It will be a $20-$30 cab ride. Getting back was probably the most difficult aspect of our adventure. We should have called for a taxi service about an hour before we were ready to go. Just make sure you have your travel plans figured out if you are staying on the strip or downtown.

This was a place that I wanted to check out and Im glad I did. The atmosphere is similar to other Vegas bars with video poker, pool tables and they have a shuffle board to the side which is unique. The selection as far as beer is impressive and reasonable 6 dollar pours, but the bottle selection and beer to go is a bit overpriced. The price is fair in my opinion because they had vintages going back to 2004 and it supported alot of regional breweries. I got some 3F and Abyss which I have been longing to get my hands on. All in all a good experience and I will definitely return.

Overall impression is the numbers should speak for themselves but I'll still pay the respect and say a thing or two.. After reading a couple of reviews, I had to see the place for myself and thank you, thank you, thank you!! Stupid of me to have not come in with a bigger appetite but what I did have (the Cajun Mac N Cheese) chased with some delightful Oaked Bastard was superb! I could taste the love put in to the food and see it all throughout the menu.. I left with a full growler of Double Bastard which far succeeded any 18 pack I would have bought downtown for my hotel stay on the strip. The Service was Outstanding (and Gorgeous;) The Gaming was good and... F it!! just go see for yourself! You will NOT regret it! I will be back there every Vegas trip!

When was the last time you were eating a delicious Cajun Mac and cheese, while drinking a rare as hell bottled dissident 2010 by deschutes, followed by a Yamasaki 18 year whiskey while all along doing some gaming? That's right, that happened to me. Rediculous beer on tap and bottled here. Nothing like it in Vegas. And super special events with lagunitas, stone, deschutes and all that is good in this world. Every time I come to Vegas I make a trip here and never regret it. If you're staying on the strip take a free shuttle to sam's town and walk over, you will thank me!!!

As a Vegas local Aces & Ales is one of my go to bars. A better draft selection cannot be found anywhere around vegas, and a decent bottle selection. A great atmosphere makes it a good spot to watch a game, or just eat dinner. There food is EXCELLENT!! Service is always friendly. I think my favorite thing about Aces & Ales has to be the events they frequently throw. I have been fortunate enough to attend several of them and they are always great. They also offer great Happy Hour and nightly specials.

Went to Aces and Ales yesterday for the first time. I have been to vegas multiple times and I can't believe I didn't hit this place before. It is off strip and it will be about a $28 cab ride from the strip.

For vegas this place has a great selection of quality beers on tap from Deschutes, Stone, Green Flash, Sierra Nevada and a host of others. They lean more towards hop heads, which I most definitely am, and some solid stouts.

Food was definitely good with reasonable prices. The Arrogant Bastard Chilli Cheese Fries were great! Misty was our waitress and she did a great job. She forgot one of my beers but when she was politely reminded she comp'd it for me. Considering she was the only waitress/bartender for over 20 people she did a stellar job.

They also had a stellar selection of bottles that I can never find at home. Having every Stone Verticle Epic since 2005 was very impressive!

We went on a sunday when all their drafts are only $4 and that was definitely the way to go!

Rolled into Aces and Ales on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed. I had heard the beer selection was legendary and the video poker games were giving money away. So we rolled in with a few friends and within minutes we collectively won $1280.00. So with that behind us we could concentrate on beer and food. We tried many beers and they were all fantastic as was the food. The staff was out of control nice and we actually got to meet the owners who were equally as cool and they even bought us a round of some crazy ass shot before we left.

All in all a great experience and I will return every time I visit Las Vegas.

Thanks Aces we will see you soon.

Roll into Aces & Ales, really like the stage setup, not enough rock n roll & craft beer events, too much of that granola hippy stuff associated with beer events. Roll up to the bar, what, a Sierra Nevada Snowed In Stout? Wow. They have a killer selection of stuff here that I prolly couldn't find at the brewery in Chico I'm already thinking. Started off with a Lagunitas Fusion 7 because I didn't want to start my night off going with something over 9% alcohol right off the bat.

Service was friendly, even the locals were friendly. Service got a little questionable when the chick started badmouthing sour beers as all being "gross," but its cool, I'm fine with personal opinions that aren't insulting to customers. Given that all the waitresses kind of have that junior high 'i'm more into metal/goth/emo etc. . . genre stuff wearing black vibe, its nice that you can distinguish them based on their opinion. Even the dudes working in the back/kitchen were cool too, one got me an extra bottle of the Mikkeller cognac brunch weasel after I loved the first and still had a ton of money on my video blackjack machine to figure out.

I drank 4 pints of Sculpin while I was here. I haven't known why, but Sculpin just hasn't seemed as good the last few years in the bottle. Well, it appears that may simply have been an age thing, as the Sculpin they had on tap got me reacquainted with why I loved that beer in the first place. Bursting with tropical hop flavor.

I love that this place is such a nice venue in terms of sound quality. The rock star owner dude from yesteryears must have really made the sound quality/acoustics of the building a big priority, because the sound from the 3 different bands that played was of great quality, even if the actual music genre (butt rock) isn't always my cup of tea.

Bottom line, I got wasted, had a ton of fun, great selection etc. . .

To me, Aces & Ales is hands down, the best spot for drinking in Las Vegas.

Very nice selection of beers. They had everything that was on the tap list. Instead of charging a lot for a pint, Aces and Ales has chosen to keep prices at $4-6 and adjust the size from 8-16 oz. I had a Big Dogs brew, Lagunitas Fusion 7, and a 2010 Old Guardian, all were fresh and great. The Belgian Frites w/ blue cheese and bacon were awesome. Tuesdays they have a featured beer and 5 more samples as a special. Thanks to Ryan for the sample of the Westvleteren XII...awesome. Bottle selection is impressive, from what I was told by the gents at the next table, there are a few bottle clubs that get together here and sample brews. Well worth the trip! I'll be back next trip to Vegas!

Visited this place with a couple a friends on my trip to Vegas. We just finished a round of golf at Royal Links and needed to stop by a place nearby with great food and great beer (the great groupon deal helped). Every beer I tried was served at the correct temperature and tasted clean. Food was very good as well was the service. Misty was our waitress and she was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. This place was defiantly one of the highlights of our trip as all of us wanted to return, but was a little bit of a drive from our suite at the Trump Tower. If/when I make it back to Vegas, this establishment will be at the top of my list!

Been to Aces on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. Great line-up, good service and good food. For Vegas their tap list is second to none and their tap takeovers definitely make for enjoyable evenings. Haven't had a bad thing to eat there, though I haven't gone through the entire menu.
Bartenders are personable and very friendly. Cost is right on par with any other establishment so no complaints there.
Basically I head to Aces when work/schedule permits and I enjoy myself.

Overall a great place to go, highly recommended.

(Visited 08/2011 3 days in a row for the 2nd annual Strong Beer fest): The bar is located on the east side of Vegas near Sam's Town on South Neill. There is a decent-sized private lot on the side and rear.

The inside is split-level with the wraparound bar on the lower portion, complete with the requisite inlaid video gambling games. Some breweriana on the walls and TVs all around. A sort of biker bar feel through and through.

Difficult to comment on the typical tap lineup as it changed daily during my visits for the festival. Over 20 taps in total. On my visit there were one-offs and specialty beers from Deschutes, Stone, The Bruery, Joseph James, Tenaya Creek, Mikkeller and many more. Over 50 bottled beers available too.

Service was consistently good on our visit, and because we spent hours there 3 days straight we got to know the bartenders pretty well (the wife winning money at Keno each day was fun too).

Food at Aces and Ales is pretty good. The sandwiches are solid and the sides we tried were all good.

Overall this place is one of the standouts in Vegas, and it will definitely be on the short list for future visits.
