An exceptional brew. An exceptional find. This is why I travel to hunt out brews not distributed in our state. Smooth, robust and full.
While Looks are unexceptional for an exceptional brew, Smells tell me this yeast is really working these dark malts into a rich medley of dark fruits with some vanilla. I'm Tasting dessert and it is smooth and the alcohol is well-concealed. Much enjoyed... and I'd like to find it again.

It was my understanding that the tripple style was meant to have pronounced spices but this one did not. That will be my sole knock on this beer.
The pour was dark cola colored with a pencil thick old ivory colored head. Interesting.
The aroma was lead by biscuit like malts and some dark fruits like figs and raisins. A little banana was detected, but didn't stay long.
Flavor followed. This is almost, but not quite, sweet. The fruits really shine and the bready malts play nicely with them. The balance is very, very good.
The feel was ideal, almost crushable but just enough body to remind you to savor.
I was unhappy when I finished this bottle, 12 oz just isn't enough. I'm going to have to go back and see if it's still at the store and get a 4 pack this time.

WHOA!!!!!!! This one is very strong, stronger than final absolution. This one is more subtle on the palate, this one tends to settle a bit easier on it. The booziness of final absolution stays with you. A strong ale is spot on in this category, this reminds me of a smoothed mellow version.

Look: Deep black with a very thin white head that quickly dissipates.
Smell: Sweet fruits and malts. Cherries?
Taste: Follows the nose. Fruity and sweet, almost like a dessert beer.
Mouthfeel: Thick, but surprisingly lacking carbonation for the style.
Overall: Could use a bit more carbonation, but delicious otherwise.

Served on tap at the pub, half pint pour. Color is black and opaque, with a neat little collar of foam. Big, dark fruit aromas and flavors dominate: figs, raisins, cherries. Some boozy notes in the nose, but the taste is smoother than the aroma leads on. Nice molasses and roast flavors, with an herbal and spicy finish that's clean. No surprises that the brewery that puts out Final Absolution would have a lock on other Belgian styles as well.

12 oz brown bottle - Born on November 4, 2016
Dragonmead Sin Eater's body is dark brown almost black with a slight red cast when held up to the light. A tan 1-finger head sat atop but dissipated quickly leaving no lacing. The smell was of dark fruit and dark candy sugar with a little chocolate noticed. The taste is close to the nose with flavors of roasted malts, and toffee picked-up. Mouth feel is high-medium, and of smooth texture - almost creamy. Carbonation is light.
Overall, great drinkability for such a high abv. I'll have another.
