There is nothing bad about this beer except that it is completely unremarkable. I reminds me of a pseudo-craft beer produced by MillerCoors, InBEV, or those Australian blokes. Light body, light smell, average taste -- definitely one notch above factory beers but way below the bar set by craft brewers featured within BeerAdvocate.

One thing that really bothers me -- the Fireman's Brew company does not disclose on its website that it does NOT make its own beer. Their beers are contract brewed for them by Ukiah Brewing. Yet, their website touts their fireman "heritage" and even has a solicitation to buy common stock!

I wonder if this company is more about a marketing scheme than about craft brewing. In fact, I am still waiting on an email response from them about that very question!

Picked this up as a single 12oz bottle from Total Wine in McLean VA. Can't find a bottle date so here it goes.

Has a very nice appearance for a pilsner. Lots of carbonation and nice head with good retention.

I really like the scent. Bready, malty & grassy. Not much hop presence but overall a really nice smelling brew.

The taste is a little weird. It's easy to drink with a crisp finish. Has a cheap adjunct taste to it though. Not much of the noble hop varieties are coming through in the taste. I'm really just getting an AAL type of taste out of this beer, and not a great one either.

It surprisingly has a very rich mouthfeel. Not fizzy or watery at all.

Well its not a beer I'd really go after again. It was fine for a sampling, but I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Just doesn't have much purpose at all.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving lacing on the surface and a thin collar of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of biscuit malts, pale malts, and sweetness are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is mostly dominated by flavors of pale malts and has some sweetness. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is rather sweet compared to other beers in the style but isn't overly difficult to drink given its lighter bodied mouthfeel. Nonetheless, it still seems to be bland.

Pours a hazy light orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and some grassy or hay aromas. Taste is much the same with sugary and grassy flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is drinkable but pretty sweet flavor wise.
