Appearance: Clear deep amber-brown in color, with a large, dense, tan head, with quite good retention. Scattered, patchy lacing adorns the glass walls,

Aroma: Sweet caramel dominates the aroma, there is also roasted malt, and a note of freshly-ground coffee.

Taste: Begins with caramel and roasted malt notes. As the taste progresses, there is a bit of coffee and bitter cocoa, though both are understated. Finishes with a faint hint of grassy hops.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full, and very pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Quite drinkable, lacks the subtlety of a Doppelbock like Ayinger Celebrator, but, nonetheless, good. Fireman's Brew Brunette Beer could be made great with the addition of toasted malts to the bill.

Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass long neck bottle, served in a Pilsener glass.

Pours a dark brown with ruby cheer. No bubbles or head at all. very poor for the appearance. Thin adn watery looking. A short lived bubble stream dies out. Nose is a malty richness, I had a whiff of cocoa that waned, soft fluid caramel. Nothing burnt. Mild but very good. A grapey or dark fruit fruitiness. raisiny, figgy. Soft earth from hops and a bit floral. Taste is good. Mild but completely flat. No body at all. Watery finish with lots of sweetness. Thin no hop bitterness.

Pours a highly carbonated cola black with a fast fading minimal head.
Smells of chocolate syrup, coca cola, and molasses.
Taste follows closely with chocolate and malt notes intensifying towards the finish, nice herbal/grassy hop finish to balance it out.
Mouthfeel is a bit thin for a doppelbock, but I kinda dig it, it's between an amber ale and a stout, but still creamy.
Overall, impressively smooth, and I like the hop finish to tame down all the chocolaty malt notes, will buy again.
