Lovely black brew, shot through with garnet highlights and topped with a beige head.

Nicely roasty aroma, with a bit of dark fruit.

Flavor follows: fairly roasty, a good bit of caramel and toffee, and some dark fruit.

Fairly lively and light.

Keg pint at the Owain Glyndwr, Cardiff. Served too cold. Dark ruby colour, nearly black. Small off-white to beige head (not nitro). Very moderate aroma, roast malts and burnt potato skin. The flavour has notes of moderately roasted malt, quite dry, hints of smoked meat and burnt potato skin. Light bodied. Not great, but far from undrinkable.

April 6th, 2016 - Some days call for a classic, and while I know this isn't the original Guinness or the Export, it's still from the heralded and now massive company that's coddled Ireland for so long. The aroma is also very similar to the classic Guinness, and the flavor is slightly twangier. It also has more of a raisin note, and a long aftertaste, and without the crisp, clear and chocolatey nature of the classic Guinness.

Unknown vintage; drank 3/28/17 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque brown appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big, noisy tank head; frothy lace.

Oats, cream, mild milk chocolate & faint sweet cherry notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Sweet cream, oats & faint dark chocolate flavors up front; a mild metallic note on the finish.

Sessionable & inoffensive, but this tasted more like oatmeal than beer.

Pours a dark brown color, opaque to the light. Thin weak cream colored head dissipates quickly leaving some spotty bubbly foam.

Aroma is reminiscent of Guinness stout - nutty roasted malts, cocoa, cream, and toffee.

Taste has notes of roasted nutty malts, cocoa, lactose or cream, hint of mild bitterness on the finish. For a session beer the flavors are quite nice and vibrant.

Feel is light, drinkable and I don't use this word lightly - sessionable. This is a quintessential English session beer. Mild carbonation with a nice smoothness throughout.

Overall a very nice beer from Guinness - you have to understand that this beer is a classic session beer and in that lens its quite well done. You can't compare this to a stout or American porter - its just not the same thing.

Are you people on this page smoking too much dope or something? or maybe Guiness is paying you off to these reviews. I don't know what your deal is. How the heck can you give this a good score. This beer is too thin and watered down for a stout. There is hardly any flavor there. I don't care how the low the abv is on this beer I really don't care to drink another one. Cheers! C-

Dublin Porter brewed by Guinness Ltd., with an ABV of 3.80% This English Porter pours out a deep brown color with a nice light golden brown head. This brew has the look of coffee, and not saying that is a bad thing. There is also a decent amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with sweet roasted grains and malts. You also pick up on a slight hop bitterness in the smell as well. Between the the look and smell this is one inviting Porter. Now for the taste, it is rich with roasted grains and malts. This is a real mild bodied brew, it goes down nice and smooth. This brew would go nice on a warm day. There is nothing overpowering about Dublin Porter, it has a super nice balance to it. I like how crisp this brew is, it almost like drinking soda. The mouth feel is Light, Clean, Smooth, Roasted, And Refreshing. Overall I'm going to give Dublin Porter a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Guinness Ltd., Did a real nice job with this English Porter.

Guinness Dublin Porter has a thin-to-medium, cola-like beige head, with some creaminess, a dark brown appearance, and some glass lacing. Aroma is of dark cherry, dark malt, brown bread crust, and some syrup. Taste is the same, with a cream note. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Guinness Dublin Porter finishes medium dry and highly quaff-able.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2017. Purchased a little while back from Home Bargains. The label describes it as a porter based on a brewery recipe from 1796.

A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A very dark reddish-brown colour that appears black in the glass. Forms an enormous head of frothy off-white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing and dissipating.

S: Aroma of dark malt with hints of roasted grain, mild caramel, a twinge of molasses, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves. Understated but decent.

T: Tastes of dark malt with notes of subtle roasted grain, mild caramel, a hint of molasses, ale yeast and faint stewed leaves/husks. Very dry, with a subdued bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a thin, insubstantial body for the style. Could certainly be thicker. Aftertaste of mild roasted malt, ale yeast, faint stewed leaves and a twinge of caramel.

O: OK but not their finest offering - it's just a bit too light. Average looks; head retention needs work. The aroma and flavour are alright, with notes of dry roasted grain, ale yeast, mild caramel and faint stewed leaves. Flavour a tad watery. So-so body; too thin for a porter. Drinkable but forgettable - seek out the West Indies porter instead.

Pours a chocolate brown color with a pillowy cream colored head.

The aroma is of brown bread, caramel and tin. Has that Guinness aroma, not sure if that's their yeast.

The taste is of brown bread, light caramel and toffee. Decent flavor for a 3.75% abv brew. Some light roasted notes.

The feel is light with fizzy carbonation. Slightly sweet throughout the palate. A bit dry in the finish.

A nice sessionable porter.
