Delicious, creamy beer.A really nice creamy foam. The nose gets some coffee, chocolate and cream :) Medium-high malty sweetness. Semi dry finish. Smooth, velvety with a soft carbonation. Delicious. I would not be able to drink two in a row, bit overwhelming milky sweetness.

Bottle purchased in Dublin. Pours opaque, black in color with one inch head. Taste is Guinness with big vanilla sugar, roasted malt, peat. Medium bodied, sweet, with moderate carbonation. Sweet Guinness and its damn good. Will get this again. Nice twist on the original.

Poured into grip shaped goblet: color solid black, head is tan to dark tan - signature Guinness color, head is made up of fine bubbles and presents at least 1 inch thick on the initial pour, but it dissipates to thin top with some spot lacing that fades down the glass sides.

Smell is probably the highlight of the beer with pleasant light roast, hint of caramel, and noticeable creamy character.

Taste starts with some creaminess then leans more roasty/chocolatey - which plays very well into the style like a lightly boozy chocolate milk.

Mouthfeel is a bit sharply carbonated, but still enough sweetness to linger and flavor.

Overall a great milk stout with unique flavor profile that has the Guinness stout qualities with a smoothing creamy sweetness.

Deep dark chocolate colour. Mocha nose and cocoa nib, sweet chocolate syrup. Tastes like it smells. Bitter chocolate, mocha and espresso, lingering toasted grains.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/12/2016. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, molasses, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, and dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, molasses, smoke, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, toasted oats, dark bread, light nuttiness/smoke, herbal, grass, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying/acrid roast flavors after the finish. Slightly drying from hop/roast bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a delicious milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready malt, lactose, and light fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter finish. Very rich and flavorful for the ABV. Great well rounded malt complexity, just enough hops to balance sweetness; and nice complementing yeast character, without being overdone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on English style example.

500ml bottle from Tesco, Enniskillen (£1.80):
A much better beer than I'd been expecting from Guinness here, this one was balanced & very drinkable with some pleasant sweetness in the early going that was coupled with touches of malts & coffee, some fainter chocolate flavours featuring as well. The only downside to this one was that it wasn't as strong as I'd hoped for at times; although the taste was a slight improvement on the nose, the aroma definitely seemed a touch weak at times.

Obviously dark on color with a nice feel ,not thin but maybe a bit dry. I think it's a smoke aroma that's throwing off the small a bit to me. Taste has chocolate and malt, very easy beer to have more than one

Give Guinness credit, the Dubliners can brew black beers. A beautiful beer, this effort is on the dryer side of milk stouts, and multiply quaffable for that reason.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice milk stout pours a nice
murky blackish brown with a nice head of light tan foam that dissipates to
a thick ring, slight pool, and shows some light sudsy lacing. Nose of milk
sugars and dark roasted malts with hints of coffee and chocolate. Flavors
hit the perfect notes for the style in a very English way---mild chocolate
collides with medium milk sugars and dark roasted malts giving way to a balanced
and highly quaffable stout. Excellent mouth feel; medium body, low carbonation,
and a lightly coating subtle chalk touched finish that is lightly dry.

Overall; a SOLID representation of the style.
Of note, I will buy a St. Peters Cream stout and try it against this one.

A solid offering.

Cheers

Taste: Smooth, milk lactose, roasted malts, not sweet but more dry and bitter is balanced. Same with the nose. Black, opaque, tan head with not much lace. Medium body.

Pours jet black like a typical Guinness but with less head. Mild lacing overall. Smells of oats, chocolate, coffee, and smokey malt. The taste is a little underwhelming but good, getting chocolate notes mixes with malty burnt coffee and a mild bite at the end. The finish is mild at best. I am torn on this beer, I want to really like it but feel the flavors were missing a lot, it could have been great but seems more on the weak side of a stout. If Guinness added more flavors it would be good, best way to explain this is a beer about 2 years old and void of all the goodness it should have.

Bottle. Very deep chestnut. Thick, dense tan head which remains.
Sweet chocolate malt aroma.
Toasted malt flavour. I bit burnt. Caramel bitter.
Full bodied, smooth but over carbonated.
An improvement on Standard Guinness.
