L-Dark, dark amber, one finger bubbly head. Looks like an English tea.
S-Slight caramel, slight malt, slight bitterness. Slight bready and roasted aroma.
T-Underwhelming to me. But so was the nose. Watered down, with slight barley/hop bitterness at the end.
F-Smooth, low carbonation.
O-Refreshing, yet disposable beer that doesn't bring much to the table.

I like this ale so much that I quit smoking cigs and bought a kegerator . I love the creamy frothy head. If you arent into hoppines as much as some , then this would be a great choice. I have trouble making a keg last 2 weeks !mmm-mmm-mm! A fresh keg I run 10 psi for a day then i back off to 6 -8 psi
If you dont know, beer from a bottle and draft beer beer is a different experience.
once you have your keg settings met for smithwicks it really brings out a nice subtle flavor that is nice for those who aren`t into extra - hoppy.

just remember 1 thing: be careful how strongly you dislike someone`s favorite ale. lol

Mix some keystone and bud light and you'll have basically the same thing quite a lot cheaper. Banana esters in your face, not even a hint of the roast barley they claim to use. This is as much an Irish red as... Well look it is t in any respect. All in all, it's such an outrageous lie in a bottle, it's surprising it doesn't rot on the shelves.

Poured from a nitro can into a nonic pint glass. Purchased from a local off license.
This Irish ale pours a deep copper colour with a two finger stark white head. Good retention and decent lacing.
The aroma was typical for the style, bready and freshly baked biscuits.
The taste was smooth with slight hops at the end. The mouth feel is creamy and the finish crisp.
Over all a decent beer albeit a little pricey for the four pack. I would give this Irish ale a B.

Smithwick's Premium Irish Ale, 4.5% ABV, 20 IBU. Pours medium viscosity and real dark brown, almost black, with a one finger white head that left decent lacing. Malty nose, taste is a sweet and malty. Excellent mouthfeel, and overall excellent.

The look of this beer has always been enviting, dark and heady. Scent is of sweet malt with some overripe dark fruit in the back. Flavor is of malt with slight caramel with a lasting slightly sweet malt finish although at the same time watery and crisp with serious carbonation. I agree that this is a beer drinker's beer, you can put them away one after another with ease. One of the best macro beers available.
