On tap at Max's the other day.
Like regular Guinness draft, this beer pours a dark black brown color with pretty good head retentition, but minimal lacing. On the nose I get some dry roasty aroma, with some licorise. The flavors on the palate replicate the nose, except this beer is a bit sweeter and has a somewhat fuller mouthfeel. I assume this is from the slightly elevated abv. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, but is otherwise a bit thin. Drinkability is OK, though this beer really isn't interesting enough for me to drink more then one.
This is an OK beer, but one that is so similar to regular Guinness, I'm not sure I see the point. Can't say I'm hugely impressed.

Have had this one on tap and bottle, enjoyable in either format. A good pour, but it can't hold up to the nitro cascading effect of the regular stuff. Every other aspect of the beer is superior to regular Guinness.
The aroma has one of the more noticeable differences, it has this earthy smoke and tobacco thing going for it.
Taste imparts just as much smoke. Mouthfeel has a thicker amount of two row and roasted black patent malt going for it, really one of the drawbacks of regular Guinness, being its thin body despite its deep roast appearance. Sticky, too, and a treat to check out. Wouldn't mind if they brought this back, I only have one bottle left in the back of the fridge and I'm having a hard time cracking it knowing it ain't coming back anytime soon.

Never can go wrong with Guinness. Especially with a celebration brew.
