Typical Guiness foamy head and deep brown black body.excellent lacing. Roasted malts, hint of vanilla, cream and milk aroma. Flavor is also very similar to typical Irish stout Guiness with light roasted malt, lager yeast and cream. Medium
To thick body and moderate carbonation. Not that much different from the Irish stout.

12oz Bottle from CJ's Potsdam NY for 1.75$

Appearance - Dark brown colour with an above average size fizzy beige/light brown coloured head. It's hard to make out the level of carbonation and there is some fair lacing. The head lasted for around 4 minutes.

Smell - Malts, chocolate, coffee, grains, metallic

Taste & Mouth - There is an above average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, light coffee, and a hint of chocolate. There is also some corn/grains and some /roasted/smokey/metallic notes. It ends with a grainy bitter aftertaste.

Overall - Drinkable but nothing groundbreaking by any means. It has a decent amount of bitterness at the end, but it's pretty basic tasting other than that. I wouldn't buy it again, but I wouldn't turn one away if offered.

- A: Very dark but not black (SRM ~ 26), light tan head lasting 4-5 minutes, some lacing

- S: Wheat, wood, berry (cranberry?), slight liminess

- T: Tartness at first touch, bitter blackberry but light, roasted malt, sharp

- M: High acidity, bitter woodiness, warm and dry, smooth

- O: The velvety dry aspect is nice, makes me think of the easygoing smoothness of Guinness Draft. Dark berry quality feels appropriate for late Fall and Winter.

12oz bottle no date into pint glass

Looks like guinness, an almost black dark brown. Smell is musty grain, wheat, oats, warm malt. Taste is some roasted malt, subtle earthy hoppiness, but is mostly grain. Feel is medium with plenty of carbonation.

Taste like an average lager with some roasted notes. Decent enough, but I wouldn't buy again.

Appearance - Pours a near black cola brown with tan head that peaks at just under 2 finger widths. Average retention. The resulting lace is thin but consistent and somewhat sticky.

Smell - Sweet, with lightly roasted aromas. Some saaz euro hops on the nose as well; floral and somewhat dry.

Taste - Light and sweet, with a fair amount of malt roastiness and hints of floral hoppiness. The finish is quick, and the flavor profile fairly simple.

Mouthfeel - Light, with decent carbonation. Finishes somewhat dry, leaving the throat a tad more parched than the sip before.

Overall - About what is to be expected. A lighter bodied Guinness, but Guinness' strength, it's nice, creamy mouthfeel, is nowhere to be found. That's a bad thing. I'd drink it if offered, but I'll probably never buy it again, especially if it comes down to this or either of the Guinness stouts.
