God created a beer and He named it Guinness. If you haven't had it yet, welcome to Earth. If you have had it, chances are you're not reading reviews, you're probably ordering your next Guinness. Smooth. Dense. Heavy but not daunting. History in liquid form.

Fantastic, classic look to this beer: full finger white, thick, strong head, with crazy good retention but little lacing. Solid black brew with tons of tan mixing.

Light aroma, reminiscent of sweet red grapes with just a hint of coffee. Not unpleasant, but not much going on.

Flavor follows the nose: dry coffee, slightly sweet, a tiny bit tart. Black malt makes for an overall rounded flavor, but it's not all that prevalent or roasted. An honest taste shows that this isn't a bad-tasting stout.

Mouthfeel is where I really feel let down. This is an unbelievably thin beer, not just for a stout, but overall. No sting or bite, which isn't bad, but the beer is just way too light; it seems like it's been watered down. Draught temperature (too cold) may be a factor, but I'm not waiting all afternoon for it to warm up.

Guinness gets too much hate simply for being a macro. It doesn't compare to the better, thicker, more creative stouts, but it's not bad, and it's just a tiny step behind some of the lesser craft stouts. It's a very low ABV beer; a better, bigger, chewier mouthfeel would have made this beer significantly more enjoyable.
