14.9oz nitro-can poured into a pint glass
A: Pitch black with the classic Guinness head
S: Muted. Some roasted malt, coffee, caramel
T: Nice roasted grains, a bit nutty, a hint of caramel though it tastes a bit watered down, as though all of those things had been a lot more promenant at an earlier stage
M: Silky smooth but a bit thin/watery
O: The Extra Stout is leaps and bounds ahead of this

A: This was presented in a cigar bar where the bartenders know how to pour a nitro-tap beer. It was its usual black color with a tan creamy head about two-fingers tall. The typical cascading effect of the nitrogen bubbles was present.

S: You get a bit of a roasted malt nose with a hint of watered down coffee.

T: Very smooth and very creamy feel. The notes you get from the nose do not necessarily translate to the palate as the flavors are slightly bland. It is not bitter and does not leave a bad after taste. The smooth creamy feel makes up for this.

M: The first mouthful is always the best with the foam of the head making the following the most smooth. Every drink from the glass afterwards is not as pleasant, but still smooth. The carbonation becomes undetectable towards the end. It is a thicker beer, no doubt.

Overall: Guinness Draught is a great beer for those who want to try a Dry Stout but are afraid of dark beers. This used to be my favorite stout before I began exploring the beer culture. I have tried numerous other Irish Dry Stouts that have surpassed Guinness. Since I have opened my eyes to new beers, Guinness has fallen as a "run-of-the-mill" stout. As many people have said on here, it is a typical go-to stout when nothing else is available, like at a typical restaurant.
