Clear brown colored ale with a glass filling tan colored head.

Smells fruity. Scents of toffee, butter and caramel. faint scent of leather.

Starts out tasting of caramel and toffee. Mild bitterness. Fruity taste with a bit of leather. Faint taste of leaf tobacco.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall an OK ale. Not something to rave about but I might buy again at a Baseball game if nothing better was available.

A nice smooth brew with not too much pumpkin and spices.

12 oz can, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, clear, yet deep, dark, amber/mahogany color with a finger and a half of white-colored head that quickly dissolved into a thin lacing of foam that completely covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Nice aromas of bready, biscuit-like toasted malt, imparting aromas of freshly baked French baguettes and English muffins, as well as aromas of caramel and toffee, a touch of black pepper and spices of nutmeg, ginger and clove. Smells really good and inviting.

Taste: Very, very, good! Lots of bready, biscuit-like toasted malt, up front, followed by lots of caramel and toffee-like sweetness and touches of the aforementioned spices of black pepper, nutmeg and ginger. Delicious!

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and extremely smooth and creamy, as there is no carbonation what-so-ever. With an ABV of 5.6%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is a very good, very malty, crushable session-beer. I liked it quite a bit!

Poorer nice but then head went flat and bubbles that were plentiful are gone. Wonder if this is bad, as in didn't hold up since the holidays. Mouth feel was watery, some hops hit the back of the mouth as it goes down?. Was not impressed on this one, but will give the holiday pack a try near Christmas this time. This pack had some kind of winter ale in it. After reading the style of this beer, seems this is the style that I'm drinking mmmm.

Pounder can from the 8-pack I picked up at the COOP tonight.. Pours clear deep amber with a short lived off white head.. Dark bread with an appropriate amount of English yeasty fruitiness showing.. Nutty/lesser earthy malts work well with the restrained grassy hops.. Obviously English.. Very well done.. Maybe a little tinny given the time in the can, but I would buy this if I could get it outside the Guinness 8-pack.

Fine and surprisingly drinkable.

I could be crazy, but drinking this side by side with Smithwick's Winter Spirit, I think they are literally the same beer. Same colour. Same flavor. etc.
