'14 (only) vintage- this is 4 years old at this point.

This one pours a reddish amber brown color, with a slight murkiness, and no head or lacing.

The raspberry has really faded here, as the base eisbock shines through very strongly- there's an amazing boozy tootsie roll aroma, with a touch of raspberry jam. The aroma is great, but not what I expected- I expected a big raspberry blast.

This is a very surprising beer. I guess after 4 years in the bottle, the raspberry has very much faded on this bottle, and you get the base eisbock incredibly strongly here. There's a boozy whiskey soaked caramel flavor here, with a big melted tootsie roll and fudge character. In every Eisbock variant I've tried, there's been varying hints/strengths of the base beer, and I'm happy to finally get a clear look at it. The raspberry is there, but very subtle- sort of a jammy sweetness on the back end.

This is medium bodied, and very lightly carbonated. As the beer warms up, it becomes very, very boozy and harder to drink.

This is probably the most interesting of the Eisbock variants I've tried. It honestly just makes me want to try the regular BA Eisbock even more.

375 mL bottle. Deep red and brown body. Smells of alcohol, raspberry, heavy sweetness, bourbon, vanilla. Wow. Tastes really alcoholic. Alcohol and raspberry. Bourbon and oak behind it. Vanilla and a very strong sweetness linger in the back end. Heavy and absurdly alcoholic. Small pour is realistically all I can handle of this, but it is good enough to want more.

Had this right after the barrel aged blueberry eisbock. The backend of this beer has raspberries that lasts for minutes. It's amazing. I'd take the blueberry over this in a photo finish. Both are great.

Shared with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice lightly hazy chestnut hue with a thin head that fades to lead a thin halo.

S - Aromas of huge raspberry jam notes, enormous raspberry notes. Huge bourbon note, really just tons of raspberry.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, huge tootsie roll chocolate. Tons of raspberry jam notes, tons of flesh and jelly, lightly sweet.

M - Mouthfeel is similar to the nose, tons of raspberry, good jam notes. Super assertive.

O - Overall this was a very very good beer, tons of raspberry notes. Absolutely delicious.

Had this at Kuhnhenn's XV anniversary party on 8/20/2016. Great raspberry taste, not a ton of barrel flavors, but I think because so much raspberry flavor, tasted more bourbon in the blueberry version. Very good.
