look: 3 | smell: 3 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 2.5

On tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC.

Appearance: head fades quickly to a barely off white ring. Murky lookig light amber. No transparency.

Smell: Very fruity, apples and apricots primarily. Some grain, no hop presence.

Taste: Fruit is all over the place. Apples, pears, apricots, very sweet almost cidery like. Faint yeast taste. Almost has a wheatwine flavor. Did I mention its sweet? Definitel a sipper.

An interesting beer but not really my cup of tea.

On tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC.

Appearance: Didn't get full experience as this one was delivered to me. Not much head. Looks copper/amber no issues in terms of the look

Smell: Fruity, a bit sour. Im resisting the urge to send this one back until I checked on only other review. Its supposed to smell like this. Very odd for a Dopplebock IMO.

Taste: Tasted like a fruit beer. Pears, apples, shares cider characteristics. Not a lambic, more like a belgian pale and replace hops with fruit. Once I got used to the taste, it was fairly nice. Not what I expected when ordering a dopplebock,

Mouthfeel: Decent, bit of a sipper because of the sour/fruit/sweetness of this one

Drinkability: Fairly high.

Overall:

I thought this beer was decent, just dont order it if you're expecting classic dopplebock taste. Definitely tastes like a hybrid beer.
