Made by our very own Todd Schwem, this Chocolate Stout was made with cocoa nips from Ghana and vanilla beans from Madagascar. It is quite rich, black in color and complex. It begins with intense chocolate and finishes with vanilla.

2014 bottle. Tan head. Black color.
A lot of vanilla/marshmallow and fudge. Has a s’mores like flavor to it. Chocolate and cocoa powder. Medium to full bodied. Some bitter dark chocolate in the finish.

Purchased a half pint at the brewery to enjoy
A- Poured a small head that lasted forever. Dark black/brown head and brew it's self.
S- Lots of chocolate and malty goodness. Bourbon barrel aged to perfection.
T- Lots of coffee, bourbon and chocolate. Rather hot right now.
M- Very creamy and complex. Excellent recipe.
O- Loved it. Wish it was for sale but it's on tap only.
Food Pairing.
This wonderful beer went well with..... smoked brisket sandwich they served in a food truck outside the brewery
Enjoy

Bottle received as an extra in a recent trade.
Pours really weirdly. Huge like 5 inch head, even if I pour very slowly. The head looks cool, I guess, but the beer is more head than beer, which is unpleasant, to say the least.
At least it smells pretty good- smells like hot chocolate- cocoa powder, and rich dark chocolate, with some vanilla and roasted malt.
Yeah- as expected by how it looked, this is way over-carbonated, affecting the flavor in quite a negative way. I can tell this is a nice beer underneath these problems- get a big blast of rich and sweet chocolate, with some vanilla, and a little bit roasty bitterness. All of these niceties are buried under a fizzy, overbearing carbonation bite. Quite disappointing.
This one is medium-bodied, with a fizzy, biting mouthfeel. I wish this was super creamy, as it clearly should be. Due to the carbonation issues, it's really not all that drinkable.
Sigh. This is clearly better than the bottle I got, but I have to rate what I drank. Beware.
