I'm not sure if this was the double or simple Terminal Gravity IPA. I'm putting it here, because to me it had the impact of a double; about twice as smooth and creamier mouthfeel than the average IPA. So if I was wrong, this was really good for a simple IPA!

From the tap poured into a tall glass, with moderatly long-lasting solid 1/2" of foamy head. Deep yellow-orange. Little smell to speak of, which to me is best. Somewhat subtle taste. Not overpowering with hops, and very light on those citrus overtones; I picked up more spicey breadiness with just a hint of sweetness...nothing overtly sweet or malty like some stouts. Just a well-balanced, hearty, drinkable beer I'd compare to Off the Rail's Hysteria double. Except this was more mild. Maybe a touch of grapefruit or flower; good to the last drop and not changed by warming.

Mouthfeel sould me; smooth and creamier than the average lager, but a step below a belgian tripel.

Not my first choice, but better than others i"ve had; and would definitely try it again if available. Similar to the Fat Tire brand.

On tap at Belmont Station 9/16 poured into true pint glass.

Two fingers creamy white head, lingering dissipation, a bit rocky. Great lacing. Deep copper body. More malt presence in the nose that regular TG IPA. Bready malts dominate nose and taste. The hop presence is more citrusy than the piney TG IPA. Alcohol well hidden. Alcohol noticeable but quite drinkable. I expected far more hop presence in this 'imperial' version. Not the huge hop bomb of the regular TG IPA, which I prefer.

Solid appearance on this one. Hits those darker shade of orange notes and comes with a solid 3/4" off white head. Lots of haze for a non whatever IPA, must be from dry hopping. Aroma was pungent of old school hops.

Taste was the typical good ipa vibe, pine, grapefruit, toasted pale and crystal malt. Its bready. Alcohol in balance. Definitely thought it was the best beer I've ever had from Terminal Gravity. I'd check out a six or four pack of it if available. They should make it again.

Great appearance. Rich and deep auburn orange glow to it, good hazing. Good aroma, strong.

Taste, phenomenal balance, huge in each corner. Standard citrus and pine you'd expect from this part of the world. A doughy-ness contributes to the substantial heavy feeling. Must soak up a lot of the alcohol too, because I didn't notice it during, but I did after drinking it. Neat. Very drinkable, the price couldn't be beat. Taken from notes, September 09.

Poured from tap at Henry's 12th Street Tavern in Portland:

Tasted next to several other IPAs:
Pours with a hazy copper hue and a good head fading to a decent and persistent lace. The aroma is simple yet rich and powerful; lots of fresh hops and spice. The palate is rich and flavorful with tons of hops, citrus, and a hint of spiced apples. Mouthfeel is rich and concentrated with good body and nice tannins. The finish is a bit over the top with hops and tannins, but still pleasant. This is definitely for hop heads like me!
