A black strong lager marked by coffee and liquorice notes provided by the coupage of four malts. Brewed by Hijos de Rivera’s Brewmasters in the only Company’s brewery placed in A Coruña, using our traditional methods: best ingredients, long maturing time, passion for the excellence. The coupage of four traditionally floor malted Check barley malts is the base of this beer’s character.
Black color, with copper and ruby shades. Roasted aromas reminiscent of malts and coffee. Intense and lasting bitter character combined with subtle liquorice and cocoa notes in the background.

33cl bottle from Beers of Europe (£2.29):
A translucent copper brown with a quarter cm, foamy head that's light tan coloured & holds throughout. It's The nose is rich & sweet with caramel malts, dark sugars with hints of coffee & chocolate at the end whilst the taste is similarly sweet but not quite as pronounced. There's some chocolate & darker malts, with a little caramel & sugar again then some faint bread malts & alcohol nearer the end. The body is quite smooth & lightly carbonated but it's definitely more flavoursome that expected with a rich, sweet finish on top of a medium body that's slightly sticky too.

L- Very very dark, then held up close to a halogen it's a striking crystal clear ultra-deep red. Pours with 3mm ultra-fine bubble tan head.
S- Rich, malty and toasty.
T- Toasty, pretty deep roasted grains, some hints of coffee. Overall quite pungent, pleasant.
F- Deep, intense, has some richness to it = would work well in cooler months. I'm having this on a hot day so am glad it's chilled.
O- One of the most interesting Spanish beers I've ever had. That said it's not a high hurdle; it's simply that it's not a bland factory 'Euro-lager', it has character and some impact.
330ml bottle BB: 09/2020 £2.99/330ml bottle from Garcia + Sons (Spanish deli) at 250 Portobello Road, London W11 = expensive but I've seen this beer nowhere else in the UK.

The pour is dark brown. The taste is roasted barley, some caramel, some anise & slight toffee. This is one smooth Dunkel Lager whereas the 7.2% abv is well hidden. Furthermore, I do not see a date on this beer. Cheers! B

Best Spanish beer I have had, nice and boozy...

This beer pour brown but looks black in the glass with a nice frothy head. The head has some staying power but no lacing. The smell was all booze - not quite what you would expect for the style - but not necessarily bad. Mouthfeel was lightly carbonated and the taste was boozy as well, but it did not overpower the other spicy and cinnamon flavors that added to a special experience with this beer. Definitely a very solid beer, something that though I paused picking up, I'm definitely glad I did.

Served in a wide flute glass from the bottle.

Appearance: dark amber color with medium bubbles to the body. Orange tinted white head rising almost one fingers length off the body.

Smell: Light yeast scent.

Taste: Sweet coffee, liquorish with hints of chocolate and cinnamon. Touch sour, with a dose of malts and hops.

Mouth: Medium carbonation. Full body coming off a nice medium sticky.

Overall: Good brew. Needs no tweaking just let it sit in the fridge. Salud!

L: Poured from a bottle to a pilsner glass. Had a dark brown color a thick, opaque consistency. There was an inch of off white, creamy, long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.

S: An underwhelming aroma of malt, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit.

T: Tasted of bit of chocolate (could've used more), a hint of dark fruit (raisins, in particular), lots of sweet malt (very much present), and a tinge of coffee. Like the aroma, the flavor was pretty underwhelming. The malt - always the primary dunkel flavor - dominates everything, leaving no room for anything else. Not a terrible flavor, but kind of boring.

S: A good amount of carbonation with a lively finish. Light- to medium-bodied.

O: An uneven beer. Could have been more interesting.

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar—when held up to a bright light it is clear very dark red in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high light tan head that died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of dark malts are present in the nose along with hints of dark fruits.
T: The taste is packed with lots of flavors of dark malts and has hints of roasted coffee beans and dark fruits. There is a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly thin and watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I'd have to say that this is one of the most flavorful Munich Dunkel Lagers that I've had before—it has the types of flavors you would expect from a stout.

Poured a dark brown with a touch of red and a thin tan head that quickly disappeared. Moderate lacing was present. A caramel aroma was present with a hint of licorice and dried fruit. The taste was toasty malt with bread and a hint of licorice. The brew had a moderate-thin body with light carbonation.

Pours dark brown, very dark. Just a hint of red. Limited head but excellent lacing.

Aromas of coffee and cocoa meet anise and toasted bread. Simple and solid.

The flavor is a little muted, but has some good complexity. Very toasty and malty but not overly sweet, with coffee, anise, cocoa and macadamia nuts. Some dark fruit arrives at the end. No booze, no burn. Solid.

The mouthfeel is just a shade heavy, but it's very smooth and spicy.

Glad I tried this.

Pours near black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma is creamy fig, plum, malt, toffee and hazelnuts. The flavour is rich with figs, plums, aniseed and baker's chocolate. There is a malty backbone, and something very savoury like umami and pumpkin seeds. Feel is smooth and medium bodied with a slick finish. A different spin on the dark lager, I like it.

330ml bottle into a stemless wineglass in London.

A: Pours a very dark mahogany brown with a finger of bubbly soft dark tan head that held great lasting film all the way through. Huge patches and streaks of wispy lace were left down the glass. Looks great for what it is.
S: Roasted malt notes, slight higher alcohol notes but not full on fusel, semi sweet chocolate, and a touch of caramel and dark fruit.
T: Rich and smooth with almost Baltic porter notes of roast and chocolate. I get tons of roasted malt followed by light caramel notes and slight copper. There's a subtle acrid quality but flavors are not overly bitter, although there is a nice kick in the finish. Semisweet dark chocolate and a touch of toasted bread crust linger in the aftertaste, and I get a touch of grape and dark fruit as the beer warms.
M: Medium full body, normal carbonation, fairly smooth mouthfeel with a decent bite of bitterness.
O: Delicious and easy to drink with a solid flavor fairly that's well rounded. I get a touch of higher alcohol, but it's not hot or fusel.

Dark with small head and lacing. Sweet roasted caramel aroma. Very good mouthfeel, with chocoloate and coffee notes. Better than SMBs cerveza negra by a point!

Dark brown color with red highlights and a thick beige head with great retention.
Malty aroma with notes of plums in syrup, caramels and licorice.
Flavor with notes of roasted and caramel malts, prunes, molasses, floral and herbal hops, cocoa and homemade coffee. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Light towards medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 7.2% is harmonic with the beer.
I had low expectations on this macro mix of Doppelbock and Dark Lager, but this had a decent complexity towards malt with good balance. I would drink this again.
