Una de las cervezas mas comerciales y populares de España. Tiene un aroma débil y un sabor bastante dulce, casi sin amargor. Es de cuerpo ligero. Cumple.

On tap. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma has grainy malt and some classic, leafy hop character. Taste is bitter and earthy with grainy malt in the background. Medium body and carbonation. Feels quite mineral, overall decent macro lager.

Look: Slightly hazy dark gold. Almost no head.

Smell: Corn, something fruity, yeast.

Taste: Extremely mild, to the point where it’s hard to identify any particular flavor beyond sweet malt.

Mouthfeel: Average thickness and carbonation.

Overall: So easy to drink it’s almost like water.

When you're out testing/tasting mostly the typical lagers of a country (in this case, Barcelona, Spain), there isn't too much to remark about lagers. Still, tjis one has a slight Saaz smell (good), has a bit too much carbonation (not too good) and ends up a bit watery and dry bitter. However as I love Saaz, it really makes a good point and I quite enjoyed it, perhaps just because of the hops. It is an okay beer, better than some of the cheap Damms in Spain.

My first from this brewer who, I presume, is a prominent brewer in a small, isolated region whose culture prides itself on a cuisine focused on fish and wine. So, crafted beers are slow to emerge (possibly explaining the low ratings here.)
Had at a Spanish tapas restaurant, I should have done me research first and selected Rivera's 1906 Vienna lager as the maltiness may have gone better with the food. But this Estrella adjunct lager also went fine with a paella with strongish herbs.

Estrella Looks darker and richer than the typical adjunct. It doesn't Smell wonderfully crafted, giving me a malt bill that has less barley than I prefer. In the Taste, its hops come out a bit stronger and balances nicely with the food. Even for a beer designed to be refreshing, it sits in the mouth slightly thin.

OA: A decent adjunct that I'm glad I Had... but not one I'd pursue.

Good for lunch etc.

If you live in Spain, one of the best lagers you can find in regular restaurants and supermarkets.

Decanted from an 11.2 oz (330 ml) bottle into a snifter glass; best if consumed by 09/2018.
A: Pours a crystal clear, light copper color with a quarter inch, white head, retention down to little more than a rim, and no significant lacing.
S: An slight acetic acid aroma initially that gives way largely to bread rind and pepper.
T: Dry. Watery, but with a bread rind flavor giving way to more of a light caramel. Peppery bitterness is a little strong consistent with a European take on American Adjuncts. Rather a bitter aftertaste limiting the generally thirst-quenching quality of the style.
M: Very light bodied with rather low carbonation.
O: Overall, drinkable but just. Have had the 1906 Reserva Especial, which is more than a cut above this. Wouldn't decline one, if being social, wouldn't order or but another.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2017. ABV is stated as 4.7%. Acquired recently from Home Bargains. The ingredients include maize.

A: Poured into a pilsner glass. A bright golden-amber colour with excellent clarity and good carbonation. Forms a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of light malt with hints of mild grain, husks, faint stewed hops, a touch of earthy yeast and a twinge of corn in the background. OK - par for the style.

T: Tastes of pale malt with notes of subtle grain, mild stewed hops, faint husks and vague earthy yeast. Very dry, followed by a crisp, understated bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the style. Light but lively. Aftertaste of pale malt, faint grain and subtle stewed hops.

O: No world-beater but decent enough for a macro lager. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a bland mix of light malt and faint hops. Body is OK. Goes down readily enough; would be fine on a hot day. That said, no need to hunt it down.

Review: 33cl Bottle of Estrella Galicia : ABV: 5.5%

Came in a nicely looking brown bottle with the Estrella Galicia logo standing out.

On pour I got a big fluffy white head and a golden coloured beer. Head does maintain well, but there is a lot of carbonation and feck me there isn’t much left to come out of the bottles, a lot of it evaporated!!!

Get a faint lagery, yeasty and malty smell, very malty smell in fact but it is ok.

Not a bad first impression, a nice light bodied taste on mouthful, easy to chug, not bad. Light, no bitter tastes.
Corn taste to it as well.

Smooth and crisp, very smooth.

Smooth, no great standout tastes. or complex flavours, but its a regular lager so dont expect too much. Light in the mouth. Overall not bad, solid.

Lager taste. Barley malts. Light and smooth. Nice mouthfuls. Good session beer, pleasant and easy enough to drink, I liked it overall.

Ok, not bad, and can imagine it would be a good accompaniment to some tapas on a hot Spanish day.

An ok beer. Not a complex flavor profile but has a bit of malty sweetness but virtually no interesting hops.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a clear gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is old musty malt. The taste matched the smell. This was a completely unpleasant experience. I was not able to read the age of the beer on the bottle.
