This location had some good high gravity stouts on tap, and about 25 draft choices. The food is fine, but mainly the tap list grew on me to the point where I would recommend going.

This place is great. I typically come here for the excellent happy hour priced food - which is very high quality, but it so happens they have good beer too. Typically you will find a decent selection of local stuff, and selection of brewers that distro to KY: Founders, FFF, Bells, etc. You will always have a good go-to IPA if nothing else.

But the best aspect of this establishment are the Whales you will find on tap from time to time: KBS, Permanent Funeral, BCBS, Zombie Dust. And there are usually no crowds. I'm currently drinking a KBS that went on a few days ago.

Come for the happy hour priced food and follow them on Twitter for the random big dog beer.

I have been to Boombozz Taphouse many times, including three times in the past few weeks, and my family often gets carryout pizza from this neighborhood gem. Twice this fall, I watched World Series games there, though the Sunday night game was up against the NFL broadcast and the staff could not put on the baseball sound. The beer offerings are typically very strong, including many local brews on tap. I believe they typically have about 25 craft beers on tap, with another dozen or so varieties available in bottles or cans. I virtually always find something good to drink and the pizza is pretty tasty too. The establishment also frequently has specials, including $3 pints. On this past Wednesday, they had $3 flights, which was an incredible deal. I imagine I'll return frequently in the future.

This place all-in-all is pretty awesome. The first very unique thing about it is they have a "frost rail" built into their bar. Sit your beer on it and it helps keep it cool. Prices were probably a bit high but they do have some great beers on tap. From talking to the bar tender, it seems they swap taps quite a bit which is a good thing. I was lucky enough to try Zombie Dust for the first time here. Didn't get to try any of their food but I've heard it's good and it sure looks good. Amazing beer, great bar, great day. I plan on coming back here very soon.

Found this place by accident while looking for the Cumberland Brewhouse on Bardstown Road on a Saturday night. As an out of towner just passing through I really didn't feel like fighting the crowd at Cumberland that I saw when I drove by so I opted for the Boombozz Tap House...

Very decent selection of craft draft beers. Not the largest, but definitely something for everybody. I started out with a New Albanian Brewing Co. Hoptimus which was very tasty, albeit a little sweet. I enjoyed the Hoptimus over a order of Buffalo wings that were decent, but not great. For my second beer I ordered a Bells Two-Hearted an enjoyed that over the Chicken Club Calzone which was very good. I wanted to have another beer(a Bluegrass Brewing Barrel Aged Imperial Stout) but I decided to go instead because I was driving.

Overall I'm very glad I found this place, it satisfied my beer geek fix and provided some decent food in comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely revisit...
