Sat at the bar during the lunch rush but not extremely busy. Katy-corner from the Sheraton, so consider coming over instead of eating at the hotel.

V - A diner not a beer spot, but an excellent variety of beer on tap. Open, bright, glass all around the exterior. A bit tight with the tables. 3.75

Q - Clean and proper glassware. Nice tap system with cooled towers. 4.25

Ser - No waiting. Quick and attentive. It's a diner so quick service should be expected. Did not ask about the beer. 4.25

Sel - IPA, porter, pilsner, saison, Belgian blonde, local and international, including palm ale. I had a Right & Proper porter. 4.0

F - Diner food, which I thought was great. Breakfast anytime. The pizza was excellent. 4.0

Visited March 2012:

I really don't have a whole lot to say about this place, as the others noted, it is a fairly relaxed place and when I was there it was warm enough that they had the windows/doors open, which really gave it an added relaxed feeling. I think that I had a burger for dinner that night, and came back several mornings for some coffee, which was good, and a smoothie after a run one night. As noted, the beer selection was not great by any means; they had a couple of beers that I can't get where I live, but overall, it was littered with beers that I can get. The beers were fresh and the servers attentive and friendly. The place was full, which made the atmosphere good. Overall, the experience was good and I will probably go back if/when I find myself in that area of DC.

This is another cozy diner/bar by the people who created, Tryst and The Diner in the heart of Adams Morgan. Relaxing atmosphere, eclectic blend of people, and good mix of comfort/health foods come to mind when I walk in. They have a small selection of beers here. I gave it a good quality mark, but lower selection mark. I think this place could stand to add a few more beers to the menu, maybe some stouts and other ales. As of 1/11, this is the selection of beer on tap & bottle:

Draft -
Dogfish Head - 60 min
Allagash White
Peak Organic Nut Brown Ale
Brooklyn Lager
Palm Ale
Imperial Peg-leg Stout - Seasonal Draft Choice

Bottles -
Miller Lite
Redbridge (Gluten Free)
Corona

The service is always pleasant and the food is always enjoyable. Open City along with the other two locations I mentioned earlier have a great place in my heart, spending a good part of my twenties in DC, I had a lot of good nights with friends at all of them. Its not necessarily a beer destination, but I recommend coming here for a brew and most importantly the atmosphere.

A nice place with a dedicated draft selection featuring reliable craft options. On a recent visit the tap line included:
- Dogfish India Brown Ale
- Peak Organic IPA
- Peak Organic Amber
- Allagash White
- De Koninck Ale
- Abita Turbo Dog
- Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter
- Southampton Double White
- Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
- Sam Adams Oktoberfest

Tap lines always seem to be fresh and nicely maintained with about 5 of the choices rotating on a regular basis. In addition to a full bar. They also offer a small bottle selection:
- Miller Lite
- Corona
- Chimay Blue Magnum
- Rogue Dad´s Little Helper

The local is from the same owners of Tryst or the Dinner. Here the atmosphere is also relaxed but instead of the coffee (which remains great) and casual meetings or spending time around your laptop (free wifi here too) it pivots more heavily around meal gatherings, with nice casual fare. It is quite family friendly, and can get pretty crowded in particular around the weekends. All in al this is a welcome addition to this side of the Calvert Bridge.
