Vibe: I stopped at this place in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. It is a combination of two stores in a strip mall, with one side serving as a beer store and the other side serving as tasting room/wine store. Both sides were joined by a bar and the tasting room had some stand out tables and couches in between the wine racks. There was a sizable crowd of locals hanging out at the bar when I arrived.

Quality: Beers were served in pint glasses at the proper temperature. It seemed that about half of the beers in the store portion were kept in coolers.

Service: The bartender was friendly and there was not much of a wait to order beers from the bar.

Selection: About 15 beers were available on-tap, some of which were local breweries from North Carolina. You could also purchase bottles/cans in the coolers in the store portion to consume on the premises.

This is a small nondescript place in a small strip mall in High Point. The place is a combination beer/wine store and bar with about 20 drafts (heavy local/NC presence) with a couple of areas for seating. It seemed like the place catered to a lot of regulars since the bartender and other patrons seemed to know a lot of the people that came in. The place was welcoming and you did not feel like you didn't belong just because you were not a regular. There was music playing but at a comfortable volume that did not make having conversations difficult.

Beers were well poured into pint glasses at a reasonable temperature and with a decent amount of head. For the store portion, they did a good job of keeping beer away from the windows and about half of the bottles for sale were refrigerated. They had a few vintage bottles but the majority of stuff was well within code and pretty recent releases. Beers were available as singles as well.

Bartender was friendly and attentive, serving our beers quickly though did not offer much in the way of suggestions or ask if there was anything special we were looking for or must-have styles, he just let us go about our business.

While the selection was not huge, it was well curated with a decent amount of local/NC beers available for consumption on or off premise.

In a strip mall on one of the main drags in High Point, this place is a combo beer and wine store, with a humidor of cigars for sale, as well. Pretty decent selection of bottles, foreign and domestic, with mix-sixes available. There is also a bar in the back with a decent rotation of 10ish taps, as well as some wine for onsite consumption. The couple of times I've swung by to hang out for a bit there is a group of regulars that are extremely friendly and fun. The folks that work there are friendly and helpful, too. Decent spot for an area that otherwise has not quite fully grasped the craft beer movement.

Know how you feel when you walk in a place and people know you, they greet you, are friendly to you, ask how you're doing, remember the kinds of beer you like, and even let you know that they have that "special release you were looking for weeks ago"? Yeah, that's what this is all about.

Otherwise you can go to some douché place where no one even says, "Hey" to you and they over charge you for stuff you can get at any grocery store.

The website says it all -High Points only premium beer store. It is small with a pretty good selection. Nothing near Bestway in Greensboro but worth the trip. Since I live 2 miles away I will be a regular. Another beer cooler or two would really increase the overall selection and make the place a much better destination. I definitely think they need to increase the hours of operation. They close at 7pm M-F and 6pm on Saturday and closed on Sundays. Being new to the area, I am not sure if the limited hours have to do with the laws in the south or not.

Dave definately knows his stuff, as well as Nick. They get many of the beers that are heavily sought after (that can be distro in NC). He understands how a 3-tiered system works and uses that to his and his customers benefits. If he doesn't have something you are looking for--just ask. I have been going here for over 2 years now and they are hands down one of the best bottle shops (bars---as there is draft as well) around.

Love this shop. David knows is stuff. They expanded into the neighboring storefront relatively recently and the other staff (shoutout Jess and Nick) are awesome as well. I always find something new to try here, they keep a healthy variety in stock. the bar area is a definite improvement as now you can really relax and enjoy what they have on tap.

I saw the reviews here and decide to try the place. David wasn't there but Scott was and he was very helpful. I had been going to Total Wine but like to support local guys when I can. This was such a different experience. Instead of being ignored, which is the usual case to Total Wine on High Point Rd. (they generally are pretty helpful on wine though), Scott was friendly and offered suggestions. He was familiar with their product, offered a sample of what they had on tap, and invited me to their beer tasting.

Local people, some local brews, good, friendly service. It can't be beat. I will be back.

I was lucky to find Brewer's Kettle when it first opened. Until late 2011 David Armstrong, the owner, had to have another job to assure that his true love, Specialty Beer in the Brewer's Kettle, would survive. In that time David's wife manned the cash register when he wasn't available. David is now there full time and I know he loves it.

I've decided that the small space is what makes this so special. It's cozy and promotes a friendly atmosphere. No question is out of bounds. David is but a step away with help.

I think the selection has now grown to almost 300 beers from around the World. We all have our favorites but mine is Aventinus by Schneider. He has added wine and specialty ciders. Try Ace Perry Cider or Oliver Peach.

I must admit that anyone who goes to Brewers Kettle becomes a friend. That's what I feel when I'm there. I'm with friends, close friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting David (the owner) after some recommendations from guy's in my brew club (HOPS) and following him on twitter. He had a Scottish Beer tasting and I figured it was time to drop by. I had a chance to talk with him before a crowd started building for the tasting started and the guy knows his stuff. He's a former home brewer and knows the ins and outs of brewing (as opposed to a store owner that just sells a product). The Scotch beers that were sampled were very nice and he gave me a discount for buying a mixed case - buy 24 bottles, 6ers, 4 packs, and/or singles in any combination and he hooks you up. I like that they have singles available for those that you want to try without having to buy a 6 pack. It definately beats Total Wine High Point Rd. (where beers go to die). I'll be stopping in more often now that I've found it .... maybe you shoud give it a try too.

Met David (the owner) a couple times and boy, does he know his beer! This joint doesn't offer much as far as atmosphere goes but if you want good beer, this is your spot. In the past I have had to drive all the way to Greensboro or Winston to get to a beer store with a decent selection, but The Brewers Kettle fixed that. It offers alot of different styles for the customer and it also keeps a good stock of some pretty rare stuff. Can't find what you need, ask David, he is very in-tune with the beer community.

A: This place is on the end of a little strip mall. It's tiny, but they do the best they can with it.

Q: There's a lot of growlers in the fridges that I didn't get to check dates on. I'm not an expert on growlers of beer, but i've always taken a trip out to the source and gotten it myself. Didn't taste it for myself, so I can't hold this score against them. Otherwise, nothing else seemed off.

Selection: Some of the best I bet anyone can get out in highpoint. I went out there on a whim, and came back with a few gems I couldn't even find in the big beer/wine stores in the city. Whoever owns this place cares.

Service: Small place. One person on duty. Nothing you can complain about... maybe the music that's playing at the time? I didnt' really need to ask a question, so i don't know the staff's knowledge of beer.

Overall: If i lived in highpoint, i doubt i'd go anywhere else unless i just wanted to walk down to a grocerystore

A very nice hole in the wall place with a great selection of brews. The staff here is very welcoming and always up for a quick chat on recommendations or other hobbies. Met David Armstrong, the owner, and we ended up talking about music which we probably could of done for about an hour or so. But instead they recommended a couple good brews and I was quite surprised to find some rare brews that I thought I was too late to get.

They probably have easily over 200 or 300 brews and some wines as well. They also have kegs and can help plan your event what ever it may be.

The ONLY place in High Point. Right off Main Street. Can't miss it.

I was just reviewing some of my reviews and noticed that my review from the Brewer's Kettle was either lost or erased or I didnt enter it. So, I shall hopefully add the record today.

Located right across the strett from Lowes Home Improvement, this place is easy to find. I have been here many times since they opened in 2009. Anyone who I have encountered there has been very friendly. Even if I asked about a beer and they didnt have it, they are always keen on getting the beer in the store or try to find out more info on the beer.

The selection is really quite great. When they first opened, it seemed the selection was average at best. Now that they have some age on them, they are getting in some good stuff with decent prices on them. My most recent purchase was a 750ml of Mother Earth Silent Night for around $15.

Overall, this is the only place in High Point worthe seeking out for your bottled beer needs. The place is really small but they make the most of the space available.

This place is really great. Small little hole in the wall off the main road, barely notice it. However, the selection is great. It isn't as large as some other places, but it's still pretty good. The guy who owns the place is very knowledgeable about the beers and has great suggestions. Also, he didn't carry a beer that I liked so he offered to order it and it was stocked in less than a week. The prices are fair

For a small town like High Point, it's a convenient to get micro brews and other beers so you don't have to drive out to Winston or Greensboro.

I have been to this store twice now. I was amazed at the selection of the beers. My first time in and I felt like a friend not just "money" walking in the door. Make sure you meet David- all I have to say is "Amazing" his knowledge and personality can't be beat. You can tell him what you like and he can pick out 2 or 3 right away. I have even emailed him a question on a beer and he was more than happy to help me and give me suggestions. Were do you find service like this anymore! If you want to experience a "beer" store..THIS IS THE PLACE....
