The walgreens beer.

Pours a clear yellow like most beers of the style. Has a bit more color than many of its like. Decent soda like white fizzy head that falls fast. Smells like cereal, corn, and rice. Has a slight sweetness to the nose. Tastes like it smells. Very bland corn, cereal, and rice, with a sweetness to it. Very thin body.

This is much better than any bud light or miller light, and is half the price. One of my cheap choices. Comparable to budweiser or Pabst but nothing special. Best part of this beer is the price.

Never heard of this brew. My old man had an Oktoberfest tasting with his siblings and a six pack of this appeared. There was duct tape on each can, and it was clearly labeled Oktoberfest. I thought that was pretty funny. Anyways....

Poured out of a 12 oz can into mug.

A) Yellow and bubbly. A good inch and a half of foamy white head. The head was gone quickly. There was no lacing.

S) Grain, pretty corny, kind of artificial and slightly metallic.

T) I guess it's not terrible. It reminds me of the many times I unleashed the beast in college.

M) Thin and highly carbonated.

O) I have come to learn this beer is exclusive to Walgreens. I guess it comes in handy for those looking for something to chase down their Vicodin. Seriously though, this is pretty bad.

It's cheap, and that's the best I can say about it. Think poorly made beer and you'll have a pretty good idea what waits for you in the can. Save the 3 bucks for a sixpack and buy a single of a good beer instead.

12 oz. can stolen from a friend's fridge. Think he said he got it at Walgreen's but then I didn't think any Walgreen's in San Diego sold beer. Perhaps the times they are a changin'. Poured into a piint glass alongside a partially finished reference PBR glass. Big Flats pours a bit deeper, say a deep straw in color. A thin cap flitters away rather swiftly.

Aroma is full and a bit sweet with nondescript grainy sweet notes and lacking much of a yeast or hop profile. Offers a touch of citrus on the flavor which is otherwise a bit rough around the edges like the aroma. Tough of spice/citrus again though the utter lack of carbonation is not helping here.

Body leaves a bit to be desired as well, again largely due to the lack of carbonation. Interestingly this beer does in a way resemble Simpler Times from Trader Joe's and both find thier source in LaCrosse, WI. The Simpler Times(Lager) has a bit more finesse and carbonation however. In the end a bit rough.

12 oz. can poured into a Libbey pilsner glass. This can says "Brewed by World Brews, Rochester NY".

Look - Straw yellow. Fluffy head that settles into whispy. The lacing lingers on the glass.
Smell - Cooked vegetables and plant matter.
Taste - Again with the cooked vegetables, little bit of rice water. Sadly, not much going on here. Beer needs to be ice cold.
Feel - Watery mouthfeel. Decent carbonation.
Overall - Drinkable, but not something I would go out of my way to get; even at a $2.99 price point. I am going to use the rest as a marinade for chicken, beef and pork. (Sadly, that is what I originally bought it for. I had hoped for a little more.)

Picked up at a Walgreens for $3/6-pack. Worthy a try? Probably not but whatever. I poured from the can into a pint glass, it's a clear pale yellow but with a pretty big head. It receded quickly with not much lacing.

The aroma is weak, grassy and not much to it. Nothing terrible, just nothing.

The taste is pretty weak as well but surprisingly refreshing.

Honestly I think it's better than the BMC guys. Will have to try side by side at some point.

Purchased from one of the local drug stores.

A: Golden with a slight orange tinge. Moderate head that dissipates quickly. No lacing.

S: A little malt and adjunct grain. Slightly sweet and sour. Not good.

T: Much like the smell, but not quite as offensive. No real hops to speak of.

M: Watery, but not excessively so. Not a ton of carbonation.

O: For 3.19 a sixer you don't expect much. You also don't get much. I have had worse.

From the 355 ml. can no. 3140-10:48. Sampled on January 1, 2011. The pour is pale yellow with a ton of fizzy white head that eventually settles in. Aromas of grain and adjuncts. Thin body. The taste is also on the grainy side. As drinkable as any cheap macro. This is brewed under contract for Walgreens stores and these cans are all over the place for $2.99/six wherever a Walgreens can be found.

Bought a six pack of this from walgreens to try becuase hey, its $2.99.

A- golden yellow with 2 fingers of white foamy head, looks like any other macro lager, meh..
S- Very faint grainy scent as well as a corn like smell
T- Sweet taste that isn't half bad, I can taste the alcohol presence just a bit, too. Its crisp and simple.
M- light and carbonated, like a beer-spritzer
D- not half bad for what it is, given the price and others of the style tat it stands up against it is pretty good, and easy drinkingto boot.

had this one on halloween last year got a 6pack at walgreens for a few bucks drank the whole 6 pack to myself not a drop for anybody else it was tolerable i remember it being especially bland tasting like a cross between a bud light and a budwieser with the bud light being most of the taste with under 5% alc you will need 3 or 4 to get that feeling but if you like previously said need a cheap can to sip on while doing some hard work outside this is one to try

Good cheap american beer. Made by Genesee and has less off flavors than Genesee lager, which has a copper-sweet, low carbonation problem. This is more uniform and less offensive, but still sweet. Worth the price and good cold.

Drank from 12oz. can, so I have given an average 3.0 appearance rating.

Corny smell. Very fizzy and slightly metallic with a corn/grain aftertaste. Not much flavor other than the lingering metallic graininess. Tastes cheap, and it is.

I'd rather have a Pabst Blue Ribbon.

12 oz can, poured into a snifter.

Have to admit, if you pour this one into a fancy glass it looks pretty enticing. The golden straw color matches well with the absolute brilliancy, and the head is pretty nice while it lasts.

The nose is almost nonexistent, save for a slight grainy wisp. And remember, this is sniffing from a snifter, so pretty dissapointing aroma overall.

Taste is ok, to be honest. Not as bad as some of the other macro adjunct lagers. It's one-dimentional, and mostly bubbles on your tounge. The best thing it has going for it is that it isn't an offensive taste. Bland, but not insipid. Crisp.

Mouthfeel: pretty clean.

Drinkability: may surpass even the mighty bud light in this catagory.

I wouldn't go out and buy this, but I have to admit, it's ok for 50 cents a can.

Pours light straw yellow - clear - with a creamy white head that leaves some trailing lace.

The smell is not much - clean - maybe a hint of grain - inoffensive. Clean.

The taste is of some sweet grain, a hint of soap and a light touch of corn husk.

It is crisp and light.

Overall, It's not a "terrible" cheap beer. And, it is cheap. Didn't care much for the mild hint of soap. But, if you drink it very cold and fast, you might not catch that.

Pours a crstal clear lighter-than-straw yellow with 3 fingers of foamy head and no lacing. Barely any color at all.

The aroma is corn heavy with a pleasant earthy tone and hints of citrus. Clove, pineapple, and watermelon rind deep in the background. Not a bad aroma for the style, actually.

The flavor is incredibly musty. This one was served at higher than cellar temp so I think some cold might have masked the mustiness a bit. But I want to taste the beer, so I chose to serve it this way. After a few sips, the watermelon notes begin to peek out ever so slightly, as well as some banana peel. Then, after a few more sips, it begins to just taste like water. Typical flavor profile of the style.

The body is light, perhaps medium for the style. Carbonation is a tad stinging.

Overall this beer is exactly what you would expect for the price. Not much. But screw it, its Walgreens beer so kick back your feet, pound a sixer, and enjoy a taste of corporate America.

Bought a 6 pack for 3 bucks from walgreens just like everyone else probably did. I bought it as a joke cause it was so cheap, thought it would be disgusting and un-drinkable. i was wrong. it wasnt that bad. it tasted like most beers of its style.

A- I honesty just gave the appearance based on the can, i did not pour it into a glass as it is def not glass worthy. so the can presentation was ok.

S- smell was old beer that was sitting on the counter opened for 5 days, very flavorless and putrid.

T- This didn't actually taste too bad, i rather enjoyed it after the first few sips. If you enjoy bud or genny or miller even on occasion this is the best bang for your buck.

D- Drinkable, for a beer chugging contest or a creed concert or some other mediocre festival or event that will undoubtebly be awful. for 3 bucks a 6 rack, fuck it, try it out, ive had worst.

This beer is a very pale straw yellow color with about 2 fingers of white head that fades fast and little to no lacing in the glass

Smell is light can says brewed with choicest hops but the aromas would say otherwise, has an aroma most similar to a natty light or keystone light

Taste is sweet and light no real big flavors very watery for claiming to be a full body beer and not a "light" beer

Mouthfeel is light and clean not myuch substance to this

Overall this beer is very cheap so I didn't expect much this is a beer that you can drink a lot of on a tight budget and can give you a break from the eveyday major commercial cheap light beer and is neat to say that you had a beer called big flats. So if your looking to drink cheap this could be a good choice otherwise this should be avoided

Wow $10.99 a case, I can't pass this up and can feed this brew to unsuspecting macro drinkers. But I must try one, so let's give it a whirl. Popping the can and pouring into a pint this brew has the classic adjunct macro smell all the way, like a saki bomb. Pours to a light bright yellow with a big foamy head that holds up well. Good start. On the taste this brew has a classic semi sweet malt and flatly bitter taste throughout with the same but quickly fading aftertaste. Carbonation is lower than expected but overall the mouthfeel is ok and the brew is not offensive and palatable. For $0.45 a serving, one cannot berate this brew in all catagories.

The smell is not good but if you drink it right out of the can this beer is better than bud miller and coors. For $3 a 6 pack I have no complaints it is a pretty good beer. If you are a broke college student give it a try it is much better than natty or keystone and it is about the same price. It is worth giving a shot if you like cheap beer.

Okay, yeah, I got this at Walgreens because it is cheap and I'm trying to pay off my credit card bills for the springtime so I can run them up again in the summer. So I'm drinking Big Flats. Ain't life grand?

Seriously pale yellow pee color. Big white 'blink and you'll miss it' head. Sweet, mellow corn malt nose. Taste is what you think it is; bland, blah, and belch.

For what it is, it is fine. None of the Coors Light face melting tastelessness, the High Life sawdust in the mouth the next morning, or Colt .45 touch of throwup in the mouth with every sip. Just bland, yellow, cheap, and a slight tiring buzz. Looking forward to mowing some lawns with this in the summer.

I was curious since the price of the 6-pack was $2.99!! i had to try it.

A pale white-gold color with a standard but decent high white head that actually had slow dissipation leaving a decent amount of stuff around.

A basic adjunct lager aroma with dry corn, wheat, light and sweet-bready malt but with an unpleasent perm-treatment chemmy smell.

The flavor is pretty clean as it states on the can: "It's the water that makes it"...and it's plenty watery feel and flavor but with all of the right aspects like crispy malt and musty yeastie backdrop. there is nothing "off' in the flavor so it's really not a bad taste for the price.

don't be affraid to drink this one straight from the can!

A - Clear vivid yellow with a decent little head (for the style at least). Darker yellow than most adjunct lagers.

S - Fruity esters and musty grain husk. Smells cheap.

T - Overripe fruit, and not in a good way. Tastes like rotten apples and bananas that have been left to ferment. Actually not too bad.... it's growing on me.

M - LIght and crisp. Thirst quenching.

Honestly, the rotten fruit aspect isn't really good, but at least it is pretty flavorful compared to some macros that taste like carbonated water. Not bad for the bottom of the barrel price.

Ok, Walgreens beer, but I need to be objective. Color and head needs not be discussed. Aroma is malty and smells like any of the cheaper, mass produced low end beers. Taste, well, not as crappy as I thought it would be. Definitely malt forward, but I would put it up there with the bud, bud light and cheaper beers. It is not as bad as people say for what it is. Not much hop flavor here, but a good beer for the yard work days, and make sure you drink it very cold..

For $3 at Walgreens, I thought, why the f*ck not.

Standard macro look. Pale yellow, completely transparent. Bubbles, Bubbles everywhere! Finger of white head.

Smell is nothing much...sprinkling of veggie-esque corn and corny sweetness.

Wow. They claim choice hops, and I'm impressed that I can actually taste a hop or two!

Watery, slightly crisp. That's about it.

Easy to drink and it's cheap. That doesn't scream desirability though.
