Has a nice complex aroma of citrus, malt and hops. This ale is dry and has a subtle sharpness to it. It pours nicely and is very refreshing. Its amazing you can get a 4 pack 16 oz, of this for $5.00. Its well worth price considering what you get. Its not as refined as some others but its a decent enough.

Aroma is not strong but does have good fruity and yeasty components. It pours a slightly hazy golden with a thick and fluffy white head that leaves some good lacing. Fruity flavor has apple and banana components and a yeasty, malty undertone. Fizz and body are about average. Overall, not too shabby.

This is actually not at all bad. Big handsome foam in the Mort Subite globe and nice sudsy carbonation in the mouth. Color is closer to amber than to the paler hue of most Witbiers.

Faint bubblegum aroma and overall there is a little of the Hefeweizen flavor. A touch of hops in the finish along with some scratchy bitterish yeasty taste. Some pencil shavings at the end seems to be the main contribution of the coriander or whatever spice they brewed with. This is not a standout but it's perfectly drinkable as a lager alternative.

From the 16 oz can bought at Whole Foods because it was the cheapest thing in the store.

Golden yellow with a huge head of carbonation and some sediment, almost to excess. Large spoke-style lacing makes up for the lack of clarity.

Aroma nicely wheat-based, with a hint of orange/citrus.

Smooth in body, and sweet in taste. Mild hint of spice, with definite tones of orange peel in there. Overall, not bad, and quite drinkable, though lacking in complexity or character.

B-

12oz into a tulip. Pours a crystal clear classic yellow gold, yellowish minor head receded to a cap, ok lacing.

Aroma is heavy on the citrus and coriander, zesty, spicy, sweet and clean.

The taste matches the scent precisely but with an unexpected dry twang that kicks in the pleasant aftertaste. Spices to the level of a 9 volt on the tongue. Crisp, small bitter residual. Thin bodied mouthfeel.
cheers

12 ounce bottle, no freshness info, purchased for $5.99/sixpack @ Whole Foods

Suprised by the crushingly low scores for this one. Maybe this years batch is a major up grade from what people sampled last year.

Has the look of a typical wit beer, with decent retention on the off white tiny bubble head.

Some light spice in the nose, nothing remarkable.

Moderate spice, pepper most notable, quite dry in the finish. Ehh, this is a near the middle of the road wit, nothing too exciting, but it work fine on a warm summers day as a refreshing quaffer, which is not that bad of a thing to be relagated to. Bring on some salads, bread and cheese and this a low cost addition to a decent summer's meal.

Served in a Kona shaker pint glass at Whole Foods - Schaumburg.

When you're low on cash but still want a beer at the bar, you've gotta go for the bargain-priced offerings. This one pours a partly-hazy brass topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises cracked wheat, mild orange zest, black pepper, clove, and a dash of cardamom. I actually like the peppered wheat thing going on here. The taste holds notes of wheat, coriander, light orange peel, clove, a pinch of black pepper, and a twist of lemon. The body is a rather light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, this could have been a solid wit, based on what the smell seemed to foretell. Instead, it turned out to be a slightly watered-down version of the style. Disappointment, indeed.

Poured into a sniffer from a bottle. Bright orange opaque color with lots of wheat haze. White ½ in head that turns into about 1/4in. little lace

Smell is malty with yeast and small citrus notes. You can get a real feel for the wheat malt for sure. No noticeable hop aroma.

Wheat malt is brought out in smooth fashion and gives a good thick smooth flavor. Some floral hop flavor is present towards the end as well as yeasty citrus like flavor… not bad

OK body with thick flavors and good carbonation for the style

Not bad by any means… worth a try but I think I will try to seek out another Belgian white to replace my past blue moon love that ended with a Coors takeover… 

This beer comes from the creator of the can quest, woodychandler. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat, some mild spices. Taste is mild, some wheat, lihtly spiced, nothing offensive, but a bit bland. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

A guy walks into Whole Foods in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C. and he walks out with some new CANs for the furtherance of The CANQuest (TM). There has to be the basis for a joke in there somewhere, right? Perhaps Jesskidden is right - this whole CAN thing has morphed from an obsession to a vice and now to a fetish. I CAN't help myself any longer. If I see a new CAN, I just feel CANpelled to bring it home for a review.

From the CAN: "Soar with St. Cloud[,]Take flavor to new heights"; "Ale brewed with spices"; "Crafted with the freshest of ingredients". I gotta say, the town that the biplane is flying over looks like something out of M.C. Escher or Breughel.

The Crack & Glug was most welcome, providing auditory input as well as revealing a brimful CAN. I got a lot of foam initially, but it quickly cascaded upwards, resulting in two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, eggshell-white head with good retention. Color was a St. Cloudy lemon-yellow and I hope that first-time readers of my reviews will forgive my digressions and transgressions as I simply CANnot help myself. Nose was quite sweet and reminded me somehow of blueberries. Is that supposed to happen? No kidding, it had a very fruity nose. So be it. Mouthfeel was medium and it really had a taste like blueberry muffin on the tongue. Where were these spices that they crafted this beer with? Finish was semi-sweet so maybe the spices helped to take some of the edge off of the inherent sweetness, but it seemed somehow lacking in totality. Still, for the price point, I CANnot complain too loudly.

A- looks like your typical wit, clody yellow with a big white head.

S- smells typical as well. Light orange citrus with lemon peel and coriander, as well as wheat and dough.

T- the taste is light and crisp, slightly sweet and slightly bitter, a well balanced summer beer.

O- people are being pretty harsh with this one but I'd say it's at least average.
