Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a clear straw color with a big fizzy white head. The head fades very fast leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is heaviest of sweet corn and a whole lot of sour grapes . Some grain and a little bit of a papery smell are there as well.
Taste -The taste begins with some light corn sweetness and a light grainy flavor. It is fairly consistent throughout the taste were in the middle it is joined by a rather tart and sour taste of green grapes and apples. These flavors take the taste to its end where they are joined by a little bit of bitterness and a slight paper taste, with them all, in the end, leaving a overall sour and light corny taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is very light with a carbonation level that is high. It is quite appropriate for the style as it hides any off flavors and makes it more refreshing.
Overall- A rather average light beer at a rather low price. It has much more sourness then the average light brew and is a bit more complex. It is not spectacular, but would make a good session style brew for a tailgate or the like.

APPEARANCE: 24oz can into a oversized pint glass. Clear pale yellow, short lived soapy, fizzy foam head and no lace.
SMELL: Light corny lager, mineral water, faint husky hop.
TASTE: Very light and watery, with a mineral touch, flat malts and little yeast. Little to no hops, faint watery green apple. Grain, stale weak bitterness, finishes with a bit of dirty penny.
FEEL: Light bodied, grainy, not too thin, just devoid of much flavor. High level of carbonation and finishes with a dry cardboard note.
OVERALL: Below average but fair for the price, 24 ounces for $1.30. This is a very simple light lager, made by mega conglomerate World Brews.

A - Drank from the can so I don't know.
S - Grains husks, grapes, Aluminum.
T - Basically the same as the nose. Grapes up front, husky grainy middle and aluminum in the finish.
M - Medium bodied with heavy carbonation.
O - Overall My local foodtown has about 500 of these in large metal bins for $1 a piece. And they're the 24oz cans too. I ended up pouring most of this down the drain though. If you like stale white grapes and aluminum, go for it. I would not have again.

24 ounce can, 99 cents at Kroger. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a clear straw gold color with about an inch white head that went away quickly. There's a decent amount of lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, corn and a teenie bit of green apple. It tastes like sweet malt/grain along with a slight bitterness. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's crisp and refreshing and easy enough to drink. There's nothing offensive about this brew. It's not great, but it's not bad either. I wouldn't buy this very often, but for the price I'd certainly pick this up again if I was in the mood for a light beer.

Rather than review this properly lets be honest. This is really really cheap beer. Like everyone else I bought this for a buck at Kroger in a 24oz can It is cheap crap beer but compared to its competitors it is even cheaper and not revolting. Great beer for college students or guys like me who enjoy the college experience once in a while even though college is deep in the rear view mirror
Also. "Sail Close to the Wind" is a phenomenally stupid yet fun slogan.

24oz can purchased for one dollar at Kroger's. Poured some into a plastic cup from a Super 8 room to see the appearance. Drank rest from the can.
Nothing special very light, clear yellow in color. Par for the style.
Clean with a light whiff of white grape or apple juice. Definitely on the sweet side.
Thankfully the taste isn't as sweet as the smell. Very clean, faint malts and just the slightest bit of hops.
Finish is refreshing and dry.
Not bad at all for the price. Pretty sure it is Genny Light in a different can tho. Would be easy to drink a ton off. Just as good as any of the big time light beers.

Yeah, this is Port Republic Light. The regular was palatable macrononsense but this is likely to be even more plain and flavorless. Appearance is light golden with slightly more head, although not much more. Nose is almost nonexistent.
Flavor is corn sweet and has almost no hops. Everything is weak and thin. Texture is a bit grainy and will probably haunt me tomorrow. Certainly nothing special but I've had worse.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a couple inches of fizzy, white suds.
Smell: Not too much going on here, not that it was ever expected, with only a small whiff of faintly sweet malted basic barley.
Taste: Husky barley grains yielding little sweetness. Very faint hop character with a very low amount of incorporated bitterness. Dry, slightly fizzy finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It's cheap, it's a lite lager, though I'd still rather take a Sam Adams Light over it any day.

Picked up a tall boy of Kroger's own light brew for a mere $1. I really dig the label. I poured some in a glass for reviewing purposes and it has decent color for a light beer; nice, fluffy head too. Strong aromas of corn and fruity sugars dominate the nose. Flavors of corn and grain without much else. Not offensive to the senses, but not something I'll be buying again if I have a choice. I thought the original lager was a worthy creation; it's a shame the light lager does not follow suit.

Poured from 24 oz can into Pilsner glass
A - Light straw yellow with a nice frothy white head that doesn't stay around for long. For the style, exactly what you would expect.
S - Smells of a bit of pale malt along with some of that good cheap beer smell that you get with alot of the big names.
T - Little bit of bitterness hits me first, following up with some pale maltiness. Nothing spectacular at the start, nothing awful. However there is a lingering "cheap" taste almost metallic flavored. Finishes with a bit of an alcohol bite that goes along with the cheap taste. Again nothing to write home about but for the style, not awful. I do get the watery taste which is what gives this the lower marks.
M - Not as highly carbonated as I would like, could have just been a bad can. Doesn't stay around the mouth for long, easy drinking would be a good descriptor.
O - For the style I would honestly say this doesn't deserve as bad of a grade as it has. Not that great, but better than alot of the other "Lite" beers out there. Plus as 1 buck for 24 oz you cant beat it for watching a game with some friends.

Poured from a can into a pint glass.
Look – golden color, clear, with about a finger’s worth of off-white colored foam that dissipates quickly.
Smell – typical grainy/cereal smell of a light beer. Nothing else in it that I can tell.
Taste – not a whole lot of taste to it period, but what’s there at least isn’t a typical acrid taste that is often noticed in light beers.
Mouthfeel - Texture is typical and light, leaning more toward the watery side.
Overall – For what it is, it actually is quite passable and palatable.

Another contract brewed random label generic beer from this company based out of Navato CA. Brewed by Genesee in Rochester NY. Appears a pale fizzy yellow with streaming bubbles. Light speckled lacing. Aroma has a cooked veggie aroma with corn/rice generic watery sweetness. Flavor is pretty light overall flavor, pretty nonoffensive except for some chemical like flavors in the background, semi sweet mineral water slightly metallic. I could drink this if on a desert island but why does some big corporation sell these contract brewed beers to Kroger and other large chains...I just don't get the logic. Mouthfeel is like carbonated water overall a beer that didn't offend please or even inspire a real opinion.
