Dark Red-brown in color with a 1/4 inch head that lasts. Nothing is overpowering with this beer in any way. The smell is mild with a hint of malty sweetness. The taste is very mild with hints of some kind of berry. I also notice some kind of spice, maybe nutmeg or clove? The finish is nothing much at all and in fact kind of fades away. I want to try this beer a couple more times to get a true feeling for it.

"Watch City Brewing Frostbite 2005 Winter Ale" 22 oz. bottle.
"Brewed and Spiced with all Natural Ingredients"
"Brewed in Waltham, MA 01702 USA (note: 01702 is actually the zip code to Framingham, MA, not Waltham. Waltham's zip codes are 02451, 02452 and 02453)

Deep amber in color, thick, loose bubbly head. Great nose, malty, fruity...defiitely fills the senses of al things holiday.

The taste...not so much. Somewhat bitter with none of that great malty taste I had associated with the smell. Too much ginger? Actually drinks much more like a soda than a beer, mouthfeel is very poppy and tingly.

Deep light absorbing brown color with a thick dense tan head. A slight draping lace is left on he side of the glass after each sip. I sense roasted malt first on the nose followed by subtle spice notes (cinnamon, and maybe a little clove). I taste the spice first (definitely cinnamon this time) and then a sweet toffee flavor from the malt. The finish has more sweetness (figs this time) with just a bite from some hops. This was assistant brewer Matt’s first time spicing the Winter Warmer, and he did a nice job balancing all of the components. Wonderfully light fresh mouth feel for such a dark beer. Very drinkable anytime of the year.

This ale poured from the tap a deep red-amber color with modest tan foam that left lace on the glass. The smell was very faint. The taste was dominated by floral hops and very little spice came through in the flavor. The flavor was balanced with some maltiness. The mouthfeel was good: moderate body, low carbonation. The drinkability was good. This "winter" was pretty mild.

This ale poured a dark, opaque red-brown color with sudsy, light brown foam that settled and clung to the glass. The smell was slightly sweet and malty with a touch of tanginess. The taste was lightly sweet with a bit of wheat malt flavor (?) and some spices (cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg). The mouthfeel was smooth and spiced with medium body and moderate carbonation. The sweet, spiced flavor lingered. This was an OK winter ale.

Medium clear-brown pour, nice thick, creamy, tan head that laces nicely. Aroma is malty, and some spices (nutmeg and cinnamon?). Flavor is initally malty and sweet, followed but a slight spicyness, which lingers on for a bit. Good, slightly chewey mouthfeel.

This bier has an attractive, clear, dark-chestnut color. Head is tan, very creamy and fine, maintaining a short, thin layer. Lacing is simply A-1!! Nose, despite being quite mild, does emit some spicy notes; like cinnamon, perhaps? Both body and smoothness were medium. Just a trace of pricklyness on the tongue. Tasted malty-sweet to start, with a touch of spices again (cinnamon/nutmeg?). Spices were nicely understated, reminding me a bit of Sammy Winter Lager. End is slightly dry, with a bit of hoppiness creating a nice balance. Pleasurable aftertaste, too! Flavor improved immeasurably as it warmed! Skol!!
