750ml bottle. Served in a snifter glass.

Pours a substantial golden-orange body, clear as the sky, one finger white head, fair retention, not much lacing. Smells of tart lemon, leather, biscuit, a bit of oak, citrus, a bit acetic, surprisingly. Flavour is similarly leathery, tart, mild caramel and biscuit, oak, and 3/10 acetic presence. It's fairly tart and heavy on the Brett; lots of leather and lemon. Mouthfeel is interestingly medium-fuller bodied, a bit slick and leathery on the palate. Good carbonation, on the sweeter side for a saison. Pretty decent, tarter than expected, a bit sweet and definitely plenty of Brett.

This is a very good saison with a well-developed brett character. The oak is woody rather than smooth and buttery, which suits the base much better, not to mention the brett. Great stuff, and thoroughly enjoyable.

The other entry for this combined two of the versions together, so I've added an accurate entry. This rating is for the OAK BARREL witth BRETT. (NOT BOURBON)

Had on tap at the release. Pours golden colored with a small white head on top. Aroma of light hay, honey, belgian yeast, oak. Flavor follows with sweet honey and hay, a little bit of yeast funk, and a hint of oak. The brett seems to be missing from this one, as there isn’t much tart bite or dryness to it. Perhaps it should sit in the bottle for a bit before trying again. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Not a bad beer at all, but was expecting a bit more brett funk after the Saison du Swamp w/Brett I’ve had. Interesting, but not as good as the bourbon version.
