usually when an ipa pours an amber color my initial thought is to be turned off. i am over the old school over balanced sweet malty hoppy beers, these richer grains always seems out of proportion to me, and its really something i generally do not prefer in the style. thats why this one was such a surprise when i got into it, it sure is copper colored, but the hops here are amazing, and this particular grain base seems to support them really well, its a great match, and its not sweet at all somehow, clean and minerally. i get piney oily west coast hops in both nose and taste, slightly candied or crystalline or something, fresh though too, and bold, above the big grain, spruce and juniper and even pineapple, a cool, albeit simple and familiar profile. it being so low alcohol is great too, i could blast a bunch of these and would be more than happy too, its delicious. its dry for its color too, which is surprising and i think makes the hoppy finish really good. i really enjoyed the beers i had from swamp head on my recent trip to florida, and this was one of the better florida ipas i came across.

This is a really nice beer. It's not too florally hoppy and not to heavy. This is the kind of IPA you can have many of and not feel too full. I just had it in a twelve beer sampler at Engine 15 in Jacksonville Beach and I think it came in second only to a giant of IPAs from Green Flash. BTdubs - the other Swamphead beers were also good representations of their type and quite tasty. I'll be taking a trip to Gainesville at some point...

This is an absolutely fantastic IPA. It's everything you want in an IPA, bordering on Imperial IPA. Lots of hops in the taste and nose. Super fruity and citrusy, nutmeg and chives, a little spicy and herbal in the finish. I have a swamp head growler and this is what I usually fill it with. Just great beer.

Can from Modica Market Seaside Fl Sept 2017
Old school IPA right here. Hop bitterness (and subsequent flavor) gets over-ridden by sweet biscuity malt. Not my favorite take on the style, but still quaffable.
Nose has hints of pineapple and passion fruit. Pretty refreshing nonetheless..
Doubt this would be the favorite of hardcore hop heads. A weaker, fruitier Jai Alai, possibly (?)

A: pours a beautiful amber/orange/gold color with a 1 finger head and a layer that stays throughout the glass. Sticks to the sides, too.
S: piney hops, some sweet brown sugar notes, and malt.
T: bitter counterbalanced with some sweetness and a lot of malt. Pine flavors come through with a hint of fruity flavor.
M: medium body with medium but fine carbonation. It feels wonderful.
O: very good beer from Swamp head. It's on par with the best IPAs of the south (Hop Art, Jai Alai). Definitely something to try if you get a chance to grab a growler during your time in Gainesville.

A - Cloudy orange and amber with a nice fairly creamy head, awesome lacing, gorgeous beer.
S - Smells of citrusey grapefruit and hops, smells great.
T - Very tasty, citrus grapefruit and a bitter hop bite. A taste of bitter hops and some citrus stick in your mouth. A small malt backbone is there to provide a touch of balance but this beer is about the hops and they are fantastic.
M - medium bodied, coats your mouth with delicious hoppy goodness, medium carbonation.
O - Great beer, exactly what I want out of this type of beer. If I ever see this on tap I get it.
