Made with hops grown in the good 'ol USA... you'll proudly support American farmers when you drink this beer! Light copper in color, it has an intense hop aroma and strong hop bitterness. Our hopback process uses fresh hop cones to take this IPA to unexpected places. Prepare for a mouthful of flavor.
Our Brew Master Says…
"Using a hopback gives our IPA a huge, juicy hop taste while remaining balanced. Mild malt flavor is detected in the background."
Food Pairings:
Blackened Tuna, Buffalo Wings, Soy-Based Dishes, Pizza, Vintage Cheddar.
Preferred Glass: Stemmed
Availability: Year Round
ABV: 6.9%

Right between average and outstanding, hence 3.5. Pours a dark golden hazy color with minimal head. Scent is strong of malt with some pine undertones. Taste follows, but hop bitterness dominates the back end. Almost medium mouthfeel and an aftertaste that is equal parts malt and hops

Drinking this at the Mother Earth Brewery in Kinston NC.
Poured from a tap into a pint glass.
Appears golden yellow, white foamy head that dropped quickly and quite a bit of lacing.
Smells floral, citrusy, bready.
The taste follows the nose, but piney, citrusy, with enough malt to help balance. Definitely hop forward!
Mouth feel is medium for me he style.
Overall a relatively complex beer for the style. I would definitely order again.

Poured from 12 oz bottle in pint glass. A 1" white head drops slowly with moderate lacing. Color is hazy golden orange. Aroma of citrus, pine, with some malt. Mouthfeel is medium and viscous with a somewhat dry finish. Flavors include orange, pine, grapefruit, and bread dough. Overall: very good.

Sisters of the Moon IPA from Mother Earth Brewing is a hop-forward IPA, balanced somewhat by a nice malt backbone. It’s a beer that gets better as you drink it, so don’t be put off by the initial sips. At 6.9%, it’s practically sessionable and would pair well with most spicy foods, especially Tex-Mex. Color is unremarkable for the style, but a few sniffs using olfaction and retro-olfaction will produce rewards of pine and some tropical fruit that are replicated on the palate. A very nice IPA, probably more in synch with the West Coast. If you’re buying, I wouldn’t decline.

From notes 8/17/13: Pours an opaque deep gold/pale amber producing 2 fingers of frothy, somewhat lasting, off-white head that leaves webs and motes of lace. Aroma is caramel malt balanced with grapefruit, tropical fruit and thin pine hops. Taste is a less balanced mix of pine, grapefruit zest, flesh and pith hops with the caramel malt trailing behind. Finishes thin and bitter but transitions to an intensely bitter and chalky lasting aftertaste. The astringency becomes tongue drawing as the bitterness fades. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, mouth coating bitterness that becomes lively with green persimmon astringency.

A very standard IPA. No surprises with this beer. Well balanced and a good choice when staying in NC.

One of the most balanced IPAs ive ever had. Very easy drinking - almost sessionable IPA for the Hop heads and a dip of the toe to those who are new to the IPA scene. Crisp but not bitter, Flavorful but not in your face. Ole' Reliable, gets the job done, Ms./Mrs. Consistent. Whatever you're thinking through these words, you're right. It's exactly that. It might not be anyone's favorite brew, but it certainly will a lot of peoples default beer. 4.16/5
