A- Love the paper labeling on this one with the pic of the guy from the 50's! Upon unwrapping, this pours a brown-ish color with chocolate cola/raspberry hues...awesome! There isn't much of a head, but it does start out cherry cola color and is thin and bubbly...it doesn't retain well. Lacing is quite nice with plenty of small patches of foam clinging to the side of the glass.

S- Plenty of deep raspberry, candied syrup and a medley of tart concentrated fruit juice. There is a Belgian sourness about this but it is balanced well by jammy sweetness and a fullness that is of yeast/bread.

T- Raspberry creme truffle, hints of jammy caramel malt sweetness, some balancing tartness...not much else to say here but it's very very good....dessert like in fact!

M/O- Surprisingly this is medium-full in body and quite smooth upon the palate. The carbonation is plentiful yet smooth and allows the tart/sweet characteristics to bloom and provide lots of flavors! A real treat and I recommend this one! Another winner!

L: Dark brown with a slight white head that left a nice lacing down the side of the glass.

S: Raspberry and a slight beet of almost strawberry jam smell in there as well.

T: Unripe raspberry, almost like the blue raspberry stick pops. Has a slight sweetness to it as well, interesting.

F: Full body mouth feel with a nice amount of carbination.

O: A super nice beer, man the more of them I try the more I love sour beers!!

Pours a dark purple/crimson, little to no head, leaves barely any lacing along the side of the glass. Smell is that of deep, dark berry tartness and wavering sweetness, that reminds one of a the faint memory of jam or a freshly baked pie sitting to cool on the table top.

Taste is very thorough in that the raspberry sourness is there in force, but not overpowering and actually, quiet pleasant. There is a slight follow up of the quintessential beer taste, some very distant malt and hops, but the raspberry dominates this brew as it was meant to. A delicious fruit beer that will turn even the most doubtful taster into a fan. To be enjoyed as much as possible and undoubtedly a beer to keep stocked for the winter season.

375ml, tissue paper-wrapped bottle - nice to see a return to my beer-swilling jurisdiction for this brewery, after having had their gueuze here a half decade or so ago.

This beer pours a clear, dark magenta colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and slightly bubbly pink-tinged white head, which leaves some low-lying continental ice shelf lace around the glass as it quickly abates.

It smells of fresh raspberry pie (the fruit, sugar, and graham crackers - oh yeah), a tame yeastiness, soft red wine acerbity, and some underlying caramel maltiness. The taste is sweet caramel malt, a lessened, but still heady raspberry jam fruit thing, soft nutty notes, a gently sour yeastiness, free-range dark and pale sugars, and a suggestion of well-faded red wine vinaigrette.

The bubbles are pretty understated in their frothy, low pressure sales tactics, the body a solid medium weight, and mostly smooth, just some of the raspberry tartness nosing around, to absolutely no one's chagrin. It finishes still good 'n fruity, faintly sour, and for the most part, sweet.

One of the simpler renditions of a sour raspberry ale from this part of the world, as the use of the Oud Bruin base really amps up the sugary quotient. Easy to drink, though, and nearing dessert territory - something tells me this would be killer with some vanilla bean ice cream.

Old dark with a raspberry twist. Takes away the bitterness of the ciderey underlying beer, and sweetens the top notes. A little heavy, heavily carbonated, but quite surprisingly drinkable.

A very unusual beer but worth a try.

The beer is a brownish burgundy color. The head is brownish pink and smallish, maybe a finger or so in height after a normal pour. There’s some lacing and retention is ok. The aroma is fairly pleasant. It’s very jammy. There’s a relatively mild cough syrup note, but it doesn’t hurt the overall smell too much. Some caramel malt flavor in the background. Mostly big jammy raspberry, a bit sweet but not bad. The taste is odd and not good. There’s a sweet raspberry juice flavor with nowhere near enough tartness. Simple sweetness, verging on splenda simplicity. Out of place woody bitterness. Mild caramel. More of that medicinal flavor. Pretty sweet. It’s fruity but there’s no depth or fullness to the fruit flavor. Not great. Pretty much no pucker. Carbonation is lower than expected. It’s a bit sticky. Aftertaste shows a bit of raspberry jam but also bleh malty sweetness. I’m not a fan.
