Since the 1890's, Narragansett Beer and Autocrat Coffee have been home-grown Rhode Island favorites. This beer is a unique collaboration that brings together Narragansett's bittersweet Milk Stout with dark, delicious Autocrat Coffee. A smooth stout with robust roasted coffee aroma and bittersweet coffee flavor. Notes of toffee, dark chocolate, and roasted barley.

Presentation: Pint can with no freshness date poured into a mug.
Look: Black as night with a vicious three finger tan head. Excellent head retention.
Smell: Malts followed by coffee and finishing with roasted malts.
Taste: Malts and slightly bitter black coffee.
Feel: Thinner side of medium and lightly carbonated.
Overall: A solidly built stout. Would be happy to make its acquaintance again next year.

Poured from a 16 oz. bottle into a Sierra Nevada tulip pint glass.
This beer pours dark brown with mahogany highlights and a huge billowing beige head that recedes quickly leaving behind a small amount of lacing.
The aroma is light and sweet, made up of milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, roasted barley, and a hint of lactose sweetness.
The taste is lightly roasted grains and coffee, with chocolate, vanilla, lactose, and just a bit of bitterness. It is creamy and smooth, and very pleasant. Just a bit lighter than your typical Milk Stout.
Overall, it’s a good beer, just a little on the light side

Pours dark. Light tan head. Slight bitter coffee aroma. Not much flavor. Very light on the coffee and sweetness. A lot dryer than I would expect. Slight bitter cocoa finish. I'm not impressed.

Drinking this at home.
Poured from a 16 ounce can into a pint glass.
Looks dark brown with a nice foamy tan head that lasted and no visible lacing.
Smells malty, lightly chocolate and coffee.
Taste malty, coffee and a bit of cocoa on the back
Mouth feel is thin for the style, but improves as the beer warms.
Overall an okay example of a coffee milk stout that I probably wouldn't drink again.

Picked up a six pack of tall boys today at Rollins Beer and Wine in Rockville. This has a consistently excellent head and smells the part as well in the coffee and roasted malt departments, with some light sweetness. Maybe a little more carbonation than is necessary, and maybe a little less sweet than I prefer in a sweet stout but this has a bold, coffee and cocoa flavor that gets the job done. Good sixer for the weekend.

From the tall boy can in a snifter. This solid sessionable brew
pours a dark brownish black with a VERY nice head of tan foam
that subsides to a thick ring, thick layer, and shows excellent
lacing. Nose of of dark coffee, dark char, dark chocolate
touches, and hints of cream. Flavors follow the nose with
char laden coffee, dark roasted malts, brulee, and moderate
cream notes. Nice mouth feel; medium full body, medium
light carbonation, lightly coating, and finishing with a bitter
malt and char finish that is lightly dry.
Overall, a solid little brew
Cheers

16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a creamy khaki head that falls slowly leaving great thick retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are malt forward. Hints of cocoa. The coffee goes unnoticed in the aroma department. It doesn't smell bad, it just doesn't really smell like anything. The flavors are bolder than the nose. More cocoa and chocolate along with some hints of vanilla. The coffee is pretty mild, but comes through in the flavors. The lactose does its thing, but it's not really that sweet. Low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of light-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a decent brew. It's actually a solid milk stout, but I just wish that the coffee was more prominent and vibrant.

16oz can stamped K229 1315:23 poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 5.5% ABV. The beer pours dense black with light mocha colored head. The head recedes to a 3/8" cap and sticks. The aroma is faint coffee and lactose. The taste is semisweet, somewhat watery, roasted malt with hints of coffee. Minimal bitterness on a mineral finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, not great & likely old. Date your cans please!!!! I had this years ago and loved it, so I would still drink it if I knew it was fresh.

The look of this beer is great like a stout should look, extremely dark to black. The smell has the aroma you would expect coming from a milk stout, that beautiful scent sort of “desert is here”.
The taste is not on the level of the look or aroma, the added coffee seems to have ramped down the flavor a bit even though it adds that unique corner taste.
The feel of the beer on the tongue is almost flat, like some of the body of the beer was removed by adding the liquid of the coffee.
Altogether, this is a pretty good beer, despite my findings of its shortcomings. I enjoyed it with my dinner.
