Being a New Englander I absolutely loved this beer, the classic Narragansett taste mixed with roasty coffee, very well done.

Picked-up as part of a mixed six-pack at Kappy's in Norwell. Unable to decipher canned-on date. Pretty solid smell and taste. I like 'Gansett beers, for taste & nostalgia reasons, would get again.

Look: Very dark brown. Light tan head.

Smell: Typical lower end stout. Not much to it.

Taste: Fairly smooth. Getting a bit of the cold coffee. Cheap coffee though. Little sweet which is nice. Finishes easy. Not terrible for a cheap beer.

Feel: Light mouth feel.

Overall: Sessionable stout that's good and cheap. There are better alternatives in my opinion. 5/10.

Presentation: Pint can with no freshness date poured into a mug.

Look: Black as night with a vicious three finger tan head. Excellent head retention.

Smell: Malts followed by coffee and finishing with roasted malts.

Taste: Malts and slightly bitter black coffee.

Feel: Thinner side of medium and lightly carbonated.

Overall: A solidly built stout. Would be happy to make its acquaintance again next year.

Poured from a 16 oz can, into a Funky Buddha snifter.

Pours a thick oily brown leading to a thick, creamy, light khaki colored head that stands 1 finger tall.Jet black in color, with no light showing through the glass.Moderate carbonation.

On the nose I get roasted barley, and toasted malt notes. There is some dark roasted coffee in there as well, but it is somewhat subdued. There really isn't much of a scent to this beer at all.The coffee really starts to come through once the beer starts to warm.

On the palate I get dark roasted coffee, and barley up front, with sweet malts coming through on the finish. There is a bit of an earthy, metallic taste to this beer bit nothing offensive, and not enough to kill it.Bitter aftertaste, but once again nothing bad.

The body is heavy, with a slightly chewy mouth feel.Small traces of carbonation on the tongue.Dry finish.

This is a pretty good coffee milk stout. No my favorite, but definitely a solid one that is worth a try,and not one I would pass up if offered to me.

Gansett has really reinvented itself over the last few years. I forgot what the company rep. told me during a tasting but they've changed hands a few times since their heyday in the 60s and 70s.

Decent coffee stout for a macrobrew. It's definitely a one trick pony with no depth of flavor. Coffee smell and taste? It's there but not very strong. Milk stout? Not bitter, a little sweet, smooth. Carbonation/mouthfeel could be better.

I wouldn't say it's bad but it's a cheap, good "gateway" beer if you want to explore coffee stouts.

Black in appearance with a soda-fizz colored head.

Aroma of coffee grounds up front and cold milk in the tail end.

Astringent coffee in the taste; dark chocolate; to-the-point hops.

Hop bitterness is pretty pronounced to the finish. Not too dry, and lively.

Wow. Surprised by this and hoping to see this more often. Liking the pint cans.
