This beer is a unique collaboration between two iconic Rhode Island companies. A custom blend of Narragansett’s bittersweet milk Stout with dark, delicious Autocrat Coffee makes for a delightful beer that is more Rhode Island than Roger Williams himself. Since the 1890’s, Narragansett Beer and Autocrat Coffee have been home-grown Rhode Island favorites.

I like the brown can. Looks vintage.
Pours absolutely jet black witha big dark brown head. Fizzy loose bubbles. The head is almost red at first. Dissipates quickly to a thin head. Exactly like cola but darker inside without the bubbles inside.
Smells like faint chocolate, hints of coffee. Leather and blackstrap molasses. Light aromas.
Taste is very thin. Smooth coffee and cream. Sweet milk chocolate, almost candy like. Not overly sweet but well balances with dark bread malt flavor. Hop bitterness towards the end is earthy and the slightest bit of fresh pine.
Smooth mouthfeel, thinner side of medium bodied.

A really nice beer. Thin at first but grows bolder and more complex. Well balanced. A great drinker or it would be good to put in stew or chili. I'd return when it grows colder.

I saw the promotions for this a few months ago, and immediately started salivating at the thought of it. It lived up to my expectations! The pour has a fantastic appearance - a good dark body (typical of stout) and a rich tan head on it.

The aroma has notes of coffee and a hint of vanilla.

The feeling on this on the tongue is wonderful. The taste starts off with everything good in a stout, and finishes with a surprise taste of chocolate milk. It is reminiscent of the flavors of an Irish Car Bomb.

It is very hard to find (I'm in southeast Massachusetts and find it sold out all over the area) and I'm very disappointed that this is a limited brew. I really hope that the Gansett crew will add this to the family. It's a welcome addition.

A: Pours a nice "Coffee with a dash of skim" deep brown. Tan head forms like good espresso and lasts for sometime. Perfect for a "Got Coffee Milk Stout" mustache.

S: Smell is fantastic. Rich coffee beans, bitter in smell if you will. Its not sweet smelling i should say.

T: Taste is excellent. Milk Stout.. with Coffee added. Its spot on.

M: For the taste and appearance the body is a surprise. Would I like more body? Sure. But Coffee Milk is a drink to be drunk. I mean really do you know any one who sips milk? Have you? think about that one.. This beer is quaffable. Medium Body works here.

O: Overall I really love the beer. Hard to find in Rhode Island as I thought it would be, but now it seems its hard to find because people figured out, "Hey.. This is an awesome brew!"

Poured a dark coffee color with a 4F head in a stein. The head resolves itself within a few minutes.

Very strong roasted coffee wafts from the head ( and from the can).

The body is very light which works well for the style.

The taste is strong roasted coffee with some lemon and possibly vanilla.

There is a slight roasted coffee bitterness in the finish.

The coffee aroma/taste mellows with warming.

An easy beer to drink which tastes like a higher ABV beer. There is lots of character to this beer.
It's my new favorite from Gansett.

Love my stouts and finding cans very appealing. The pour from this one was black as I would expect any stout to be. But when I opened the can and could hear the phsssshhh, I knew there was going to be a lot of carbonation.

The aroma was a typical stout, chocolate with coffee and a layer of malt. The taste, wasn't exactly what I had hoped for. While the beer taste itself wad good, there was just too much carbonation in this beer, that it reminded me of one of a less inexpensive style of beer.
Too much fizzz
But drinkable

16 oz. tallboy can poured into a Guinness glass.

A: Deep brown with a rich, frothy two fingers of off-white head that fades to a solid chunky lace.

S: Coffee but also a nice amount of sweetness...really reminiscent of a glass of coffee milk with a touch of chocolate.

T: Silky smooth with some roasty notes, low bitterness, and mild coffee coming through. The coffee shines but doesn't overtake the sweetness of the stout. More of a milk stout with coffee added than a coffee stout.

M: Medium bodied and silky smooth with a perfect creaminess. Easy drinking and can I say a perfect session stout?

O: Absolutely fantastic offering here from good old 'Gansett. Have to say this would wash down a couple of hot weinies quite well!

Pint can into a pint glass.

A: Pours dark black, some ruby hues when held to light at the bottom of the glass. The head was very creamy, about two fingers and a khaki color. Nice blotches of lace on the glass with each sip.

S: I get a slightly sweet, roasty creamy coffee, some lingering milk chocolate, almost like a chocolate syrup.

T: Follows the nose, lots of coffee roast blended with a bittersweet sweet, creamy chocolate, I'm getting some char and barley roastiness too, maybe a touch of vanilla in there, some earthiness when swirled.

M: Very drinkable, most coffee stouts tend to be bigger, viscous brews. This one is medium bodied, and is a bit creamy with soft carbonation. It is smooth, and sessionable as well.

O: 'Gansett did a solid job with this one. Very easy drinking coffee brew. Unlike most coffee infused stouts that need to be sipped, this one goes down very easily and would go well with a classic New England Breakfast, couple over easy, some hash browns bacon and sausage.

Pours nice and dark brown. Little chocolate head too. Smells like nice toasty coffee with some hints of sweet cream and some smoke. Taste is super big and rich coffee, maybe a little bit of char though. Fills in with some nice creaminess then a dryer finish. Feels thin bodied but really coats the mouth.

Not epic but a great coffee stout and a steal for the price!
