22 oz bomber purchased at Acme Bar and Pizza in Rochester, NY.

Pours a golden yellow, flecks of orange. Visible carbonation. Half inch of head, not much lacing.

Smells like sweet malts and grassy hops.

The taste is pretty similar. The grassy, floral hop flavor is nice, there's also a bit of grapefruit. The sweet malt taste plays in on the back end, keeping this beer sweet without being very cloying. Some present alcohol gives the beer a bit of bitterness, but isn't very present. The hops don't give off much bitterness themselves.

Full, crisp body. Could be drier, pretty sticky due to the sweeter malts.

Didn't expect this one to be as good, considering the brewery and what they specialize in (adjunct lagers). I was pleasantly surprised here.

Thanks to angrybabboon for the bottle.

Appearance: Deep, perfectly clear gold. Head is borderline bright-white, creamy, and rocky. Crazy retention for the duration. Clumps and streaks of lacing. Moderate to high carbonation on the pour.

Smell: Slight hop spiciness. A touch earthy and grassy. Malts are lightly sweet with some underlying cracker and bread crust. Clean. Lightly toasted. Almost smells like wheat got in there. Very lightly fruity. Mellow.

Taste: Bready and malty. Some bready crust, light pale malts, cracker, and again, something like wheat. Hops are minimal, leaving a nice earthy spiciness on the top. Lightly toasted. A nice balance between the slightly sweet malt base and the hops. Almost like raw honey on the back. Gets progressively more earthy as it warms. Minimally bitter.

Mouthfeel: Hyper smooth with a medium body and a slightly high, but average for the style, carbonation. A bit dry on the finish with a lingering finish.

Overall: +1 lager points.

I'm glad angrybabboon decided I needed a bottle of this after I neglected to pick it up for myself. It's a delightfully large lager, but never goes too far. Dirty and just right.
