Nice open space. A very large menu and lunch buffet. Not a huge variety of beers. We’re out of many. Food and a ok. Beer below average. I do not recommend.

I've been to this place a couple times. It's very much a throw back type of place where they brew their own beer, which is ok, not great. It's laid out like a sports bar with TVs everywhere. I had the Early Riser coffee stout which was good. Our service was prompt and courteous, even though we had a large group and multiple checks. Selection is mostly their beers, but they cover quite a range from English, Belgian & German styles to IPAs. One lady in our group ordered Michelob ultra, so they had that option also. The food is outstanding, as far as bar food goes. I had fish & chips, wife had a burger and the kids ate pizza and all were happy.

Conspicuously situated in a stylish strip mall. Not so inviting on the outside due to tenant rules and ordinances. Inside though the vibe is familiar. Tight space for brewing, but having the tanks visible and in your face is a real treat.
Beers are moderate quality, drinkable, and there's a decent variety. Add a couple of apps and you will have a good time.
Service: No complaints. I went on a Wednesday shortly after opening time, and the bartender showed no signs of midweek boredom. Very good.
Tennessee's ridiculously outdated ABV laws are a major hindrance to breweries---this is one of the rare laws that you can taste. This is supposedly changing next year. I suspect Tennessee will then become a place to visit rather than avoid for beer lovers.
Another bummer: They bottle their goods, but they are for carryout only. Come on man.

Cool Springs Brewery is a fairly small, well-run, and charming brewpub located in a strip mall in the northeast of Franklin, TN.
They keep roughly 10 house-brewed beers on tap which is really nice (I'd guess 4 to 6 of those are coming out of the serving tanks, and the others out of kegs), and there's not a bad brew in the lot. Beyond that, they'll do some really interesting rotating beers now and again. As far as brewpub beers go, I have to give them a nod as I'd be proud to brew what they're doing with the system they've got (meaning there's not a lot of room for barrel aging, or even tank aging, or anything unusual.).
The restaurant it self is kind of new looking and has two-tiers. The bar is smallish, and backed by high top tables. It's got a modern look to it, and it's comfortable.
The food is very good for the tier they're in, and I'd certainly recommend the pizza but everything else is pretty good as well (wings, fish & Chips, burgers, wraps, etc.).
If you're in the area it's certainly worth a stop if just to grab a beer or two.

Beer selection is decent. 5-7 regular beers and 3-4 seasonals. Of the three less hoppy beers I sampled all seemed to be on the hoppy side. Prices were reasonable. $6 for a pint. Had a good selection of pub foods, pizzas, and fried food that all pair well with beers. ( Try the jalapeno poppers) Service was fine. Decor was 30% sports channels, 40% "Beer making _blank_ , _blank_ since _blankity_blank_" style 'cute' signs. 30% brick/brewery style. Overall happy. The English pale ale was horrid, the seasonal Rye beer was divine.

This is a brewpub located in the Cool Springs area. It is in a strip mall, so nothing to really rave about in terms of location. The beer selection was OK, most where middle of the road. They had an amber that was good but the Double IPA tasted like a pine tree. I had a pizza that was not bad, that is their specialty. Lots of other food on the menu that looked good also. If you are staying south of Nashville, this is worth a visit.

Stopped in for beers on a Tuesday when they opened at 11.
Stop #395 on my world brewery tour.
Important to note the their head brewer (recently?) came from Twisted Pine Brewery in Boulder. The owner of Cool Springs recruited him and has given him creative license to do what he wants. Very adventurous for the mid south. He's doing some very nice hopped pale and IPA's. He's also a big Saison fan and had a black Saison which was pretty good (not a huge fan of roaster malt Saison's). My favorite was the American Pale hopped with Cascade, Centennial, and Citra. The IPA had Falconer's Flight which I'm less of a fan of.
Had a flight with Kolsch, Berliner Weiss (with raspberry and watermelon syrups), Amber, Pale, IPA, Stout, and Black Saison.
Bartender was super nice and did her best to describe the beers. Brewery is right next to the bar and I spent 20 minutes during my visit chatting with him.
Well worth the short drive down from Nashville to Franklin.

This place needs new reviews given they have a new brewmaster. Liked the atmosphere, up to date furnishings with a small stage with a Simon and Garfunkel type playing. Staff seemed very attentive and enthusiastic and the pizza was above average.
Now to the good part. The brewer seems to be very experimental with a ginger hop bomb available with 152 IBUs. I showed up too late for their amber that was running through a Randal filled with bacon and cocoa nibs. Had their espresso stout and everything seems solid.

Cool Springs is located in a strip mall near Franklin TN. The inside is very open and has a sports pub feel. They have a smaller bar near the TV's.
I was there on a Tuesday night and the service was poor. While I was greeted at the door, the bartender took forever to get me a beer. Again, could have been a bad night.
The beer itself was okay. I liked the fact that they were doing Alt's and Kolsch's. However, they were average. Since it was TN, I know they have to cater to the Macro crowd. However, having several Macro's on tap was oof putting.
Overall, I would not reccomend this place. If lived in Franklin, I'm sure I would visit this place. However, for an out of town business traveler I think you can find better choices in downtown Franklin or Nashville.

Tried this brewpub since I was in the area for early Christmas shopping and I am always on the lookout for local brewpubs.
As other reviewers have noted the floor plan is open with brewing equipment in view and a sports pub atmosphere. These are all fine with me, but the noise level was too high and the live entertainment did not fit the acoustics of the room.
The website does list several interesting sounding brews but there were only four listed on the beer menu and one of them was not available. I tried both the Porter and their Jackhammer Ale, which was listed as a German Maibock style beer. I really wanted to like and enjoy both of these beers but found them both to be lacking in flavor and depth. The thought "weak and watery" came to mind for both beers.
The website also said they served a New York style pizza which is my favorite style of pizza. Again they seemed to fall short as the dough was way too thin (more like a flat-bread) and slightly undercooked.
On the plus side, the service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable.
As another reviewer pointed out; they don't seem to have faith in their own brews. This is the first brewpub I have ever been in that also had Miller Lite on tap!
Overall, if you like good pizza and good beer, this may not be the place for you. I may have visited them on a bad night, but I will not be returning.

The atmosphere was pretty standard. Nothing special but still sort of neat having a brewery here in Cool Springs.
The beer was decent. Not the best Ive ever had but certainly good. I tried the IPA and I was impressed. I like the fact that its local.
The service was pretty standard. Staff is friendly and caring. They seemed to make sure we had a good visit. They didn't seem to have the selection that I was looking for but they did have a few.
The menu looked decent, however I did not eat as I ate previously. The price wasn't unreasonable either.
Overall, I am really glad to have a place like this here in Franklin. I think we could use some more beer friendly places in town and hopefully someday we will have more. But for now, I am happy. Thanks CSB!

CS has a very open floor plan, with brewery equipment in site. There is a huge sports bar vibe, interupted only by the scent of brewing beer. While I don't mind macros being sold at a brewpub, it did bother me that they have macro specials. Have some faith in your own brews!
While the website lists several brews, they seem to only have four on at a time. They also carry the basic macros and micros. I only had the pale ale, which wasn't all that great.
The service was good, the server checked on us frequent enough without being annoying.
Got the lunch buffet. Decent food, but nothing outstanding. While I would do it again, I would never suggest going there again.
