Notes / Commercial Description:
Finding the right balance of aroma, hoppiness, and fullness of flavor is a mountain worth climbing. That’s what we’ve done with Breck IPA. Scrutiny of ingredients and experimentation with process resulted in this yin and yang – distinctively pleasant floral aroma with crisp hop flavor that’s mellowed by Full Pint malt, a relatively new and unique malt variety. Drink up. Breck IPA is available all year long!

Malty, Bready, Citrus, Grassy

This Colorado-style IPA yields a hazy gold hue and a two-finger head that sticks in the glass. Softly malty, biscuity, earthy and fruity aromas. Medium-bodied with a slight chewiness. Very creamy and smooth. A malty base with some grainy sweetness and breadiness. Fruity melon with a citrus rind edge, a solid dose of grassiness and sticky resin. Finishes crackery and dry with a lingering floral bitterness. The style, like this beer, caters to those who are looking for a maltier and more balanced IPA experience.

Poured into a Breckenridge balloon glass.

Look: A fairly clear honey golden body sits under a white head that recedes to a remaining patch of wisp, but it does leave decent spotty lacing.

Aroma: Nice burst of tropical fruits on the front balanced with a really piney finish.

Taste: Just a touch of tropical fruits and sweet malts up front -- apricot, then a spicy cedar wood body takes over. The finish is spicy too with pine and faint white pepper coming out.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, dry.

Overall: I like this more than Lucky U, it's a lovely hoppy IPA with just enough tropical fruitiness to add balance.

Pours a 24K gold with a 2 finger head of foam. Lacing is good. This is a gorgeous looking IPA.

I get a lot of hoppiness in the smell. Mostly pine but some grass and floral hops. There's an odd malty sweetness that brings balance to the nose. Decent overall smell.

The taste is piney, somewhat grassy, and despite the firm malt backbone, I find the hops come across as harsh.

Good enough mouthfeel.

Not a bad effort from the brewer but it does not tickle my fancy.

pours golden with a copper hue, big frothy off white head that leaves thick lacing,
smell is big biscuity malt, earthy, secondary but there is piney hops and a little bitter grapefruit,
taste is more bitter grapefruit and pine than malt, nothing overwhelming but i almost wish something was.finishes bitter but with a hint of honey.
feel at first is like a fresh, dirty, old school ipa on draft but the earthyness fades with the head and leaves a slightly harsh acidic/alcohol feel with less malt feel than i expected. feels stronger than 6.3% apv but not heavy.
overall this is a pretty solid simple old school west coast ipa, bet it's great on tap in colorado.
my first beer at sunset cafe in the late 80's was a breckenridge ipa on draft and it blew me away back then

L: Pours hazy gold under a 1” off-white foam cap that dissipates moderately fast.

S: Grassy mint, some citrus, a trace of light malt that provides a subtle balancing sweetness. The hop aromas are medium and the malt aromas are medium low. Very mild alcohol flavors.

T: Starts melony citrus fruit that gives way quickly to a big citrus rind to quinine bitterness that is long and lingering. Hop flavors are medium, hop bitterness is medium high, malt flavors are low to medium low and yeast flavors are low. The fruit flavors come out more as the beer warms.

F: Medium body and carbonation, no astringency, no warming.

O: A big bitter beer that is well balanced by a complex flavor profile.

Hazy, amber pour with a slight white head that dissipates into a lacey film.
First aromas of pine then lemon/citrus and malt.
Bittersweet citrus, definitive pine, malt and hops taste.
Dry finish with an amazing bitter finish. Real back of the mouth punch.
Nice IPA from Breckenridge.

It is slightly hazy, medium bodied head that fades after a few sips to a quarter inch layer with great lacing. It smells citrusy, fresh and juicy which seems to be from the Mosiac hops, but upon first sip, the hop bitterness is more piney and dry. Not a complaint, just an observation. Finish is dry with a vague cracker like maltiness. Seems to be a Brittish IPA more than an American IPA if not for the dominant hop strength. Well balanced, complex and drinkable. MUCH better than Lucky U IPA.

Straightforward hops and bread malts in smell and taste. Appears with hazy gold color with minimal head and decent lacing. Not bad, just completely unremarkable.
