Poured from 12 oz. bottle to snifter.

A: Burnt orange with a small white head. Unfiltered.
S: Orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, slight pine.
T: Sweet oramge and grapefruit. Fruity aromas waft into the nose. Slightly medicinal.
M: Medium. Sweet and bitter finish.
O: A little on the sweet side. Sticks around a little too much.

Orange/medium amber in color. Chill haze, and a pure white head which leaves 360-degree rings of lace in its wake. The aroma is a delicious combo of lemon tart, honey, and juicey orange slices. Medium-high resinous hop bitterness makes this an unmistakeable IPA, although there also exists a caramel and honey sweetness which is unusually strong for the style. The medium-bodied, creamy mouthfeel highlights the malt more than the hops, but the bitterness still manages to make it it to the finish. A sweeter, lighter DIPA, this beer, while tasty, is a touch too tame.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass at the Taco Mac in Smyrna, GA. The appearance is a nice orange color with a large white head. The aroma is citrus and the taste is a great hop/alcohol DIPA mix.

Look: It pours a golden orange that is actually more on the orange side. There is an off white moderate head that does produce a fair amount of lacing.

Smell: It has aromas of Grapefruit and apricot with bread and caramel in the background. There is also a hint of spruce.

Taste: IT is very sweet up front and bitters while in the mouth. There are grapefruit and apricot flavors with bread and caramel.

Feel: It has a moderate feel with a moderately bitter finish that is fairly long lasting.

Overall it is moderately bitter with strong fruit flavors and moderately malts on the low side.

This beer tasted like it had been stored in an old barrel. The wood flavor and smell is dominate. Bought a bottle at Costco because the brewery is usually pretty good. However on the first poor you get a foul sour smell and the taste is not much different. The problem is with the tortured style of a DIPA. You get almost not hoppiness and all alcohol.

Cloudy poor with a white head.
Smell apricot with peach and citrus. First impression peach citrus (hops fade quick )with a back ground of sweet malt.
Mouth feel was medium.
Overall impression very good beer. I will get it again.

Very nice 2X IPA. Well balanced with lots of pine and earthy notes. 9.2 ABV is a sleeper. Not a huge presence of alcohol. Not my favorite 2X IPA but would not turn another one down.

A: crystal clear; bronze in color; 1 finger off white head that receded slowly to a wispy cap; very nice lacing;

S: strong pine and herbal notes; the combo smells somewhat medicinal;

T: follows the nose with some pineapple added in; same result - somewhat medicinal; pineapple becomes more prevalent at the end and that helps; finish is moderately bitter and long lasting;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;

O: I'm not a fan of a medicinal note - even if it's intentional, which I think this is;

This is a great brew. The barrel aging softens the hops and evens out the flavor. The booze is subtle but adds a great level of complexity. I would almost bet this was an aged quad. Love this brew!

Good beer, wish the smell was more aromatic. Great taste, new perfect color and great mouth feel, very comfortable in your mouth, easy, hoppy, and a slight bitter taste

More malt than I expected. Not really cloudy, there's floaters in it. It's OK, not amazing but decent. I'd buy again if it was cheap and/or local, but I'm in the Northeast. If this is their DIPA I bet I'd like their IPA, will have to seek it out.

Poured on tap into a snifter at Denver airport.
Great deep dark golden hue with minimal lacing.
More malty than hoppy but the ABV is well hidden.
Good beer, glad to try local stuff

Another fine offering from BB. Undated bottle into pint glass. Clear, deep amber with a persistent off-white head. Lots of malt, with the hops taking a back seat to some extent. Medium mouthfeel. ABV is well-hidden. Very, very drinkable.

This was not at all what I expected when I opened the bottle. It was a pleasant surprise. Great blend of malts and hops. Lots of sweetness that was very well balanced by bitterness from the hops. I will definitely keep an eye out for this in the future.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 07528B15. Sampled on June 1, 2015

Amber, heady pour with a haze.

The aroma is of roasted caramel, floral, citrus, and cantaloupe.

Medium to heavy body.

Roasted malts briefly and then overcome by bitter hops. Very easy drinking for 9.2%

Great balance of malts and hops. Like Dogfish 90 IPA. Creamy taste. This one's a sleeper in my opinion....should be rated higher. Nice job Breckenridge!

12-oz bottle into Belgian ale glass

A - 3 fingers khaki head over a cloudy body of deep orange amber, very nice web of lace

S - citrus and floral, lots of malt; very pleasant

T - nice malt flavor with a touch of caramel sweetness, citrus and floral hops, notes of grass and spice, somewhat buttery

M - smooth, thick full body; highly carbonated; pretty dry

O - On the malty side, but a very nice brew nonetheless. Delightfully thick and smooth.

Interesting DIPA, not overly hopped hint of floral and citrus. For a 9.2% not to heavy on alcohol taste. Overall a good but not great DIPA, would definitely only have 1 at a sitting.

12oz bottle in a tall pint glass. Well with in its freshness window.

A- Brilliant and clear amber color with a huge off-white billowy head. Spider web lacing.

S- A little boozy. Some citrus hop.

T- Malty and under-hopped.

M- Full body and feel. The hops finally show up in the finish, dry and biting.

O- Ipa flavors and aromas came up short here.

BEST FROM BRECKINRIDGE. I'm excited to finally be able to "rave" about this Co. Brewer.

A : Dark copper a bit of haze and very good, tight head formation, retention, and light lacing.
S: Intense - Massively hopped, on the orange rind, candied marmalade spectrum with pine, moist pine floor, earth.
T: Follows the smell, but fresh and orange-liquor like - a serious IPA. Citrus rinds render a sharp, bright start that arcs into pine floor and sun baked grass dryness. Interesting balance of wet pine floor and open meadow. Lots of resin. Lots of complexity.
F: Lovely, caressing feel and finish. Hides ABV well.

This is the best beer from brewer and a very fine DIPA. Must try! Esp if you like fresh orange/pine/complex ipas with dense richness.

A grainy, herbal, spicy nose.
Pours a slightly chill hazed amber under a 2” off-white rocky foam cap – very lacy.
Palate: Big malt flavors joined by light fruit (orange and melon) seasoned with spicy rich hops and rich dry hopped flavors and aromas. Some lingering malt sweetness but nicely balanced by the hop bitterness and light alcohol flavors.
A rich, creamy texture supports a medium plus body and very fine soft carbonation.

Pours a nice hazy brown. Great double IPA. Great smell. Almost orange with some pine. Taste backs up the smell. The bitterness is nice and not too much. Smooth all the way through. Alcohol is hidden very well in this beer. Didn't realize it was 9.2% until I got up after my second pint.

Wife's Review: "No thank you".

Had on draft at Lures Bar and Grill

A-Pour is clear orange with a one and half finger white head. Great lacing.

S-Aromas of orange peel, grapefruit, citrus, caramel, bread, and pine hops.

T-Taste has grapefruit, orange, bread, pine hops, and citrus.

M-Mouthfeel is well balance with medium carbonation.

O-Overall this DIPA is very solid. With the malt it hides the ABV well.

I went to the Micro Festivus in Roanoke Virginia and hands down this was the best IPA. Perfect balance of malt and hops. Smooth on the tongue and and amazing after taste. If you have not had this you are missing out!

A: Pours a reddish dark orange. Two fingers of tan head falls back to just about nothing. lacing is good as it leaves a good amount of stickiness.

S: Chewy malts. Light citrus hops. Some pine comes in. Not much, but what is there is pretty bright.

T/M: The beer is balanced well. The malts and hops blend effortlessly. Malts come through first, then the stronger citrus hops jump out. They soon blend together which helps the drinkability. Bittersweet. Medium bodied. Alcohol kick comes in but is less noticeable later on.

O: Very good IPA. At 9.2% the alcohol is hidden quite well. easy to drink for a DIPA. Needs more hops though. So nothing extraordinary and I wouldn't go out of my way to get.

Cheers!!
