Style: Old Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Fall

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our fall seasonal combines the malty goodness of a German lager with the clean crispness of an American ale. Brewed with Munich malts and a delicate blend of Bavarian hops, it's a full-bodied treat with a nutty-sweet middle, a warming alcohol level and notes of toasted grains. A pre-winter winner.

To me, the taste is exceptional. Everything else is good. Head was gone immediately. Carbonation was maintained. I favor dark stronger beers, and recommend this one to those with the same tastes.

Just noticed that the description says 6%, but I thought my bottle said 7.5%.

To my surprise, a dark brown beer flows into the glass. By dark brown, I really mean "dark" brown. Good sized khaki-colored head as well. Bready, malty, bavarian aroma. The flavor is of toasted grains with a well-balanced addition of hops. Very drinkable. I'd like to see this with a little more body and carbonation, but overall it's a fair beer and worthy of a fair rating.

I like the way this ale transitions my buds for winter's offerings.
Darker, sweeter and maltier than expected, Autumn Ale balances with enough hops.

L: Dark brown color with a creamy white head and lots of lacing on the glass.

S: Caramel and nuttiness, toasted brown bread, slight floral hop presence.

T: Toasted brown bread, caramel and nuttiness, some sweet molasses.

F: Pretty heavy body and lower carbonation.

O: A pretty solid fall beer.

Dark brown no head. Smell of dark carmel malts, dark fruit and taste follows with a bit of spicy hops. Good beer but low carb and body hold it back.

Dark brown, nearly black, this beer is topped with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is a little earthy, nutty, and has a bit of toasted bread and caramel notes. The taste is balanced, with solid bitterness and a roasted malt flavor. Some spicy hop character near the finish. FUll in body and worthwhile.
