Oh man, I can't believe The Wick is listed on BeerFly! This is insane. I am from Hummelstown/Hershey even though I'm currently located in California, so I went to this place quite a few times back in the day. First of all, let me say that the atmosphere and service are top-notch. This is Hummelstown, and there are good people working there and a friendly atmosphere. You may not know this, but Hummelstown is one of the greatest towns of all time, in the entire world. I have yet to find a town out west that's even remotely close to as awesome. My buddy Scott used to work here (Scotty Don't!), so that's a testament to the quality of people they hire. The food here is pretty solid. Typical American cuisine, very well done. There are a pretty good number of taps and more good craft selections than you'd expect. Always a few Tröegs beers available. I remember having a Tröegenator or two the last time I was here. Lots of local stuff: Lancaster, Stoudts, Weyerbacher, etc. Bottles too. The selection won't blow you away, but it's probably the best you'll find in the HTP (Hummelstown, PA). Beer is available to go of course (last I remember), which is good because of the idiotic PA case law, and this is probably your best bet for that. Overall, I love this place.

Good beers on tap, great food. Chris does a good job with the beer list and tap takeovers, he really knows his stuff.

Ate here with my wife on 2014-02-01 after a big day of hiking.

There are 17 rotating taps. Today was a Rivertowne Brewing tap takeover. There were 10 of those beers and 7 other craft beers including the mighty Bell's Hopslam. I had a sampler of the Rivertown beers and then had a glass of their Shootout Porter (the best of the bunch). This restaurant is close to the Troegs Brewery and there was a poster saying they are having a release party for Troegs' new "Cultivator" Helles Bock in a few days.

The outside of the building is old, well-kept and appealing. This carries over into the spacious interior. We sat on a side porch with sun coming through the big glass windows, which was nice on this winter day.

Our food was very, very good with a nod to the grilled portabello appetizer. I had a Pennsylvania Dutch inspired chicken marsala which had a LOT of butter but was light on the marsala wine flavor - hence the PA Dutch influence. The amount of the chicken, mushrooms and fettuccine was generous.

My wife had a crab cake on top of three grilled portabello mushrooms with a rich, buttery sauce. Her dish was just amazing. Delicious. I'll get it next time I go. It was served with perfectly cooked steamed broccoli and cauliflower.

Our side salads, with white basalmic dressing, were good but mostly greens. I could have used more salad ingredients.

The bread was fresh backed. The raspberry custard dessert was homemade and absolutely excellent.

Our server and the rest of the staff were personable and friendly. We really liked the vibe of this place and plan to go back.

I often visit the Wick for beer and really enjoy this place. I had my graduation party there this past May and the bartenders and owner were VERY helpful in allowing me to get sixtels of Stone Arrogant Bastard and Oskar Blues Momma's Little Yella Pils. The food here is always awesome. I really like the HopBack Amber Ale chili they have (made with Troegs HopBack of course). The draft selection always allows me to try something new and interesting and I never find myself having to go out of my way for anything. Definitely a good spot to check out for both the food and beer. Prost!

I had my graduation party at the Wick a few years ago, and since my craft knowledge has substantially branched out, I figured it would be nice to stop in for a refresher. The place was empty on a Saturday afternoon, but the bartender was quite friendly. Beers were largely affordable, as we got out of there for $21 for five beers, but some prices seemed a little high (7.75 for a pint for Rubeaus, for example). As for the draft list, there were around 16 or so selections...pretty wide variety, with five Otto's brews on as part of a promotion along with selections from all across the country, including Rubeaus, Crooked Tree, Chimay White (which I can't recall seeing on draft every so often), and a draft only Weyerbacher release. Didn't try the food this time around. Makes a nice stop after Troegs, assuming you can make a left out of there.

I went to the warwick a few weeks ago and enjoyed some beer with my brother Dr G and Justin, we came for the Gumballhead and Firkin of Perpetual which was fresh and had some lemon in the cask. The wait was not long even though the place was very crowded in the bar area. I had the beers in the dining area near the patio which is spatious and has a relaxed atmosphere.

The quality of everything served is top notch. I felt welcomed by Chris the bar manager and the wings we got with habanero were so hot my brother shed some tears after eating three. I found the selection to be good with Founders, Troegs, and the special keg on that night. I would return since the prices are reasonable and they usually have a good lineup including locals like Nugget Nectar and Millbock.

I have been to Warwick plenty of times for dinner and even a few beer events, figured it is time to sit down and write a review.

Located right in the heart of Hummelstown is "the wick." Once you figure out how to get into the place you are greeted by a large horseshoe shaped bar with a dinning room or two off to the sides. Vibe is decent but can be a bit intimidating at times. My service has always been a bit hit or miss. On some occasions I have had great service where they are very attentive, and upon other visits I have been left waiting for beers for long periods of time. The food has always been pretty solid. Your typical bar food with a few extra things mixed in, easily something for every taste.

The quality is pretty good. Most of my beers have been served in the correct glasses and I have never had a problem with my food. The selection appears to go up and down. On some occasions they will have some really awesome stuff on, mostly from local places, but other times it has been a little disappointing. When they had the Stone Tap Takeover they had some awesome beers on, but it was followed up with some less than stellar offerings.

Overall if you are in the area and looking for a place to grab dinner and a pint you could do a lot worse than "the wick."

I have been to the Wick a few times but I got the full experience Friday 1/07/11. It was the Troegs horizontal scratch tasting with early nugget nectar.

I found the atmosphere welcoming yet crowded at times. I also found the staff funny and real to me and my group.

The quality was great the owner JD was of course serving the beers for this special event but I have dropped in before and given good quality service.

The selection is always at least good and sometimes crazy good. I can remember last year in the spring dropping in to the Wick for a beer and they had West Coast Double Ipa on ta...ok I will have two then. there are times when there is only 1 or 2 choices but I know arrogant bastard is a regular offering. I have noticed also that the beer selection always includes PA craft beer in the lineup which is a nice touch. The food is good.

I had the crab cake sandwich and the Buffalo chicken sandwich, both thumbs up. I found the pricing to be right on for what I would pay for craft so I always feel I am getting my money's worth.

With regular takeovers and special events I am sure to be going back to the Wick.

If you haven't been there lately they've added a nice patio area on the side, about 12 tables, nicely shaded with umbrellas and the neighboring building and landscaped with nice green stuff.

They've also upped the ante with their craft brew selection. Visited on Father's day for $2 pints. All taps had Victory offerings (about 8) but they are advertising many different breweries in the future. Definitely a nice place for the area. Nice hometown feel, not trendy or chain-like. Food hasn't changed much, see other reviews. Some good some mediocre offerings.

The "Wick" is located right on the main drag in a brick building with some parking out back. There is a picture painted along the side of the building and you must enter from the street. You walk through a tiny hallway and open a door to the restaurant. The horseshoe bar is located right in front of you.

There are two sets of taps. The tap list was nice while I was there... Troegs Nugget Nectar and Pale Ale, Green Flash IPA, two different Stoudt's, Stone Old Guardian and Arrogant Bastard, along with a few others. They had a happy hour with half price PA beers. So I was able to enjoy a few Nugget Nectar's at $3 a pint.

The service wasn't anything to praise or complain about. I was greeted when I sat down and I was approached when my glass was empty. The manager was walking around a lot talking with patrons.

I did not try the food this time but a few people did order wings that smelled really good. They specials to accompany their regular menu.

Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to the Warwick Hotel. I will be back! And the best thing is that it is located about 5 minutes from the Giant Center...so get their early on game days!

Well I had the pleasure of meeting the owner JD on my first visit. He is a very nice gentleman and although he is not the most beer knowledgeable person I ever met he is very nice and trying to learn as much as possible. This day the service was great and I had a few Nugget Nectars for $2.50 during happy hour and met some other pleasant beer lovers. I returned about a week later and decided to have some lunch. I chose the burger from the specials list. To say it was bad is an under statement. I would have been happier to eat McDonalds and I don't like fast food. The burger was overcooked and tasted borderline bad. The fries tasted like something you would get in the high school cafeteria. The service was also mediocre. The bartender never even asked me if my food was to my liking I would have told her if she had. Also, when I ate less than 4 bites of the burger and no more than 10 of the fries she said "do you need a box" I said no and she took the plate away without a second thought. I had an Allagash and a Nugget Nectar. Both were good and the happy hour price on beer was great. Returned a third time and had two Gordon's, this was new on tap since my last visit. The service again was barely acceptable.

My thoughts are this:
Don't bother eating at this place. Make sure you show up when JD is working he is pleasant and happy to talk about beer. I am happy to see he is making an effort to bring in some quality beers to the area. In the future swing in here for happy hour and have a few very well priced craft beers and then go somewhere else for food.

Recently there was a tapping of a Nugget Nectar firkin and tonight there is another beer event. Lots of props for the beer events JD.

Visited on a Friday night without the boys, just ksak and I.

Atmosphere: The Wick has a bar immediately on entrance with tables and dining around to the left (heading back towards Main St.). The bar was packed, a very popular place in Hummelstown indeed. The dining areas were much less busy than the bar.

Quality: A decent place with plebty of seats. Food is decent (not great); beer is better than average. The bathroom was a little cold though.

Service: Service was a little slow in coming around at times. After we finished our meal we sat around awkwardly for longer than I'd like. The staff seemed to handle the crowds admirably.

Selection: 9 taps. Mad Elf, Hopback, Railbender, Troegs Pale Ale, Royal Weisse, Stoudt's Tripel. A few throw-aways along with that list. I went with a royal weisse followed by a Mad Elf.

Food: The menu runs the gamut from finger food to entrees, with sandwiches and pasta in between. I went with a buffalo chicken sandwich sandwich. Next time, I'll get extra hot sauce and bleu cheese.

A good place to have a few beers, especially with the expanded tap selection.

This is a hometown pub for me. The selection of beers has gone through the roof. Years ago I would settle for Guinness and never get to have what I really wanted with my dinner....something new! Tap handles have been added and the selection for this small pub has gone way up. Growler fills of Two Hearted Ale are just a minute away from home. Arrogant Bastard, Double Simcoe, Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, Dead Guy Ale just to name a few. Call and ask for a tap run down, the friendly staff will be sure to fill you in. Stay for dinner and you will not be let down, great food and excellent dessert! The staff is very helpful and polite, they would love to hear you feed back on the beers you tried.
